This relationship was originally a good one, but then it devolved into a codependent toxic one. Where Alan was basically her back up guy in case other options didn't work out, and when they are together she didn't treat him all that well. Also Alan got progressively more desperate and pathetic willing to take her back no matter what she did or said to him. There was one time his ex wife Kandi claimed that they had sex behind Lindsay's back, she got pissed and broke up with him not believing him when he said she was lying. When Kandi tried to seduce Alan, he actually rejected her and then when Kandi came to tell Lindsay the truth, she boned her and they decided to not tell Alan. That's not funny, it's cruel.
