sweet. i think i'll take your suggestions with the SSD on the side that way I can mount my shotgun mic in that same place. Great video!

Thanks for the video, Matt. Greetings from Australia. Nice rig. I have a similar setup with my BMPCC 6K. I am working on a video to show my rig. Have a great day.

Hi! Sorry for the late reply. This was recorded using the Canon EOSR.

Great build man. Especially that microphone holder. So good! I see so many people (Myself included) that try to build out this massive 6K rig to feel professional when in all reality, this thing was meant to be built out like you have it. Smaller and more mobile. I'll be doing this same thing!

Great video! I have always had this question though, why do people like using a follow focus on a small-ish rig like this? I tried them multiple times but I still feel like having my left hand on the lens' barrel is more natural for me.
@hypecamera2 жыл бұрын
Man it's good to hear a fellow kiwi accent. Please to see someone running a left handed follow focus setup too. Up until now I've only been able to find rigs with right handed follow focus. I'm assuming this is due to most cages having handles on the left?
@iammattdv2 жыл бұрын
Haha gotta love a good kiwi accent! Yeah, left hand follow focus because of the right hand grip, the balance is a bit forward on this setup but once you get used to it its great!

Great video Matt. I have a question about the cage, what is the name/model number for it? Of all the rig builds I've seen for the 6KP I think this is the one that would be best suited for me and my 6KP. Thank you.

Hey bro! Thanks for watching, so this model specifically is for the bmpcc5k pro and is made by tilta, Tilta's part number is: TA-T11-FCC-B

Soo good.. 💪 For the audio how much gain setting for the mic? Above 50%? Looking for the cleaner audio from hiss sound... 🙏
@qfoil2 жыл бұрын
Hi! If your question is still relevant - I have the same mic and 6K Pro. I usually have levels at 80% and I think the sound is really clean. I've scanned small silent portions of my audio from this setup and the noise floor is around -72 dB (no audio processing at all).

One thing I’ll note is the Tilta baseplate it’s incorrectly tensioned at the factory. They put too many turns on the tightening lever so the bottom won’t mount to the arca plate. Had to disassemble a mount and back it off 3 teeth to have it work. People considering this plate need to know cause it can be frustrating. Went through 3 plates until I realized this.

Genuine question - do you tilt the matte box flag down when shooting? Is it ok if it's at 90 degrees? Otherwise I'm concerned for the mic pointing directly at the flag.
@iammattdv2 жыл бұрын
Usually i take the flag off if i need the audio from the shotgun, or yeah just tilt it down a little, can also move the shotgun onto the handle in a pinch if required.

Hey Jason, The Tilta cage comes with a special usb-c cable that clamps to the cage via a screw

Want to do a similar rig, but I'm thinking of just getting the 6k and get a monitor and V-Mount for the back from the spare money which will balance the rig more since this seems very front heavy, plus there's no need for the NDs with the matt box. Anything I'm missing in my logic?
@iammattdv2 жыл бұрын
Hey man! There are a few problems, 1 being that the standard 6k does not have internal ND's like the 6k pro, meaning you would need to run a matte box or other ND solution. I actually use the polarpro mattebox for other filters like mist, while using the internal ND's to cut light. The other problem you nay run into is that when adding a v mount to the back you tend to block the black magic 6k screen, making it super annoying to use the touch screen, adjusting settings on the fly becomes a bit of a mission, depends how you mount it though. Everyones setup is slightly different, just got to find whats best for you. Good luck!

What's your usb c cable? I'm looking for 90 degree angle cable for my 6k pro.
@iammattdv2 жыл бұрын
Hey man! I am using the one from Tilta, it comes with the 6k pro cage bundle included with the tilta ssd holder as well. You can find just the cable on B&H or Tilta website by using their code: CB-USBC-20
