At 2:47 you said the Tilta cage comes with both of the 90 degree HDMI and USBC Adapters. However I don't seem them listed in the "What's in the box" Section on BHP photo, so just want to double confirm if I need to buy them seperately or if they are included. Thanks!
@GlenReed Жыл бұрын
If I remember correctly the full kit does come with it. However I purchased everything separately because the kit came with a T7 ssd holder and I have T5’s so I can’t confirm for sure unfortunately. Worst case buy the kit and then order separately if necessary, at least you would still be able to use it without in the meantime. Also I added a swivel to the handle that has made it even better. amzn.to/3Y0xBwo

@@GlenReed Thank you! I ended up purchasing the Tilta basic cage kit and the adapters did indeed come with it. Ironically they sent me a T5 holder in the kit by mistake when it was supposed to be a T7! Haha.

Awesome! Once had a JVC-GY-HD type 720p video camera, and spent tonnes on accessories, and started day-dreaming about the Blackmagic stuff. Bought an original HD Pocket camera, and actually went to the launch of the 4K 'Pocket' camera in London, great evening by a great company. Then did a feature shot on a I think an Ursa 4.6K (it was the DoPs), and still was tempted with the 6k... but really, you need to be a proper DoP/Camera guy, such as your good self, to not just gather the stuff but put it to work!! I'm mostly a lazy writer... So finally decided on a Sony A7 to 'run and gun' for a short and some travel docus. (Ya see, I may not need the 64gb really.... ;-0) Awesome rig you got there, and you have many awesome videos here. You're the real thing for sure!
@GlenReed2 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. The best camera is always the one you have in your hand. At the end of the day they are just tools and you need to use the right tool for the job at hand. The A7 is a solid camera and can do things this one can’t . Oh yeah and some even need 128gb and beyond!! ;)

@@GlenReed Agreed. Best comment I heard at the Blackmagic Pro launch was from some filmmakers after we watched some BM promo films on the big screen: It's always the glass (lens)! ;-0)

Hey Glen! This video ROCKS and I have almost completely replicated your setup for my own BMPCC6k. It’s wonderful. However, I’m running into some trouble calibrating the follow focus. I have the same motor/handle setup you have but can’t seem to sync them together. Do you have any advice?
@GlenReed11 ай бұрын
Hey! That’s awesome! It really is a very good setup. I used it to film much of my recent short film and as a B and C cam in a feature film. The units need to be on the same channel. This video by Tilta might help kzbin.info/www/bejne/n3S0iIp-fK-Cnsksi=tMr16roSa0AT6yr5

if the rosette was able to rotate and lock for low shots, this would be incredible. still dope tho!!
@GlenReed2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I tried to figure out a way for the rosette to rotate, but the clearance is too small between the mount and the handle so I had to use a standard screw. Thanks for watching!

This is lovely rig. i like how compact and practical is. Looking to get the bmpcc pro and defo i will look into your rig as starting point. Thanks for sharing! Do you use a field monitor with it ? curious where you placing it and how comfortable is for filming. Cheers
@GlenReed Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes sometimes I do use the BlackMagic View assist 7” field monitor. I mount it at the front of the handle with a Kondor Blue quick release. Most of the time though I find the built in monitor is good enough. Thanks for watching 🙂

Hey Glen, have you ever had this cable drop frames? Also do you know of any usb clamps that would work with this cage?

Hey! I haven’t had any dropped frames with this cable. The system that I show has the cable bolt directly to the cage and the ssd mount. Thanks for watching!

Wow nice! Love the solution for V-Mount Battery. I always struggle with my SmallRig V-Mount Battery Plate directly behind the Screen of the 6K Pro. My question: Can I also attach this V-Mount Battery Holder on the right upper side of my SmallRig 6K Pro Cage? Which Screws did you use?
@GlenReed2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah I’m not a fan of having it behind the screen, kinda defeats the purpose of the nice screen. It comes with 1/4 20 screws and will attach most places other accessories mount, so it should work. Thanks for watching!
@Jaxplode2 жыл бұрын
@@GlenReed Thanks for this solution! I found recently found a second hand one here in Germany. I will try this out. And When you attach a Monitor on the Top Handle you can press the rig more on your body to get more stable footage and control.

Thanks for the video Glen. Any recommendations for mattebox? Also, how easy it is to switch this setup to gimbal?
@GlenReed2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I’m still in the market for a matte box myself and haven’t settled on one yet. Depending on the gimbal this setup can be quite easy to strip down and balance. I can pack up this rig in less than 5 min. The hardest part would be if your gimbal cannot balance the camera with the cage as that would take a bit more time to remove. Thanks for watching!

Thank you bro I just purchased my new bmpcc6kpro, this is definitely the rig I am getting! 😎🎥 It looks super badass ! My boy i have a question ? What do you use to stabilize your rig a Glidecam or an electronic stabilizer like the Ronin brand ?
@GlenReed2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Personally I mainly go handheld. Since the rig has some weight to it it keeps things pretty stable. Plus Davinci Resolves new gyro stabilize feature can smooth most things out. I'm not a big fan of gimbals, I have one but very rarely use it. I do plan on getting a Proaim Flycam overhead rig soon to help take the load off on long shoots, also to use with the URSA Mini 12k. Give it a try handheld and see how it works for you. Thanks for watching!

@ggdfggdfgdffgfddg34 Жыл бұрын
Friend, tell me honestly, on what diaphragm are you able to control the focus with your hands? Is it even possible to go and focus with the tilt handles? Your camera has no stabilization, which means that your main shooting position is when you hold the camera to your stomach. Explain how you shoot on the built-in screen, without a camera monitor it is not possible, to stabilize the camera you need to rest either on the chest or on the stomach?
@GlenReed Жыл бұрын
Yes it is possible to focus using the Tilta handle. This is my main run and gun setup. The added weight of the camera also helps keep things stabilized. I don’t need to keep the camera up against my chest as the Pocket 6k Pro has a built in gyroscope that is used for stabilization in post. Using the inbuilt screen is how I’m able to judge focus using focus peaking and exposure.
