So do i. I want to try my first bullet journal but i'm very confuse with the art. I can't do lettering or paint. Of course it need many tools that i've to buy. Glad to see that bullet journal is not that complicated.

Hi :) When I started i was also overwhelmed by all those fancy styles. What I did was just search in Instagram and Pinterest for monimalistic bulletjournaling. You will find great spreads there that are just functional. Also the official website, bulletjournal.com , has the easiest spreads. Example: A monthly overview is just all the dates written down as a list. Nothing more. They also have a youtube channel, so maybe check that out!

Her approach is quite artistic I will never fit all that info in the tiny space she allots. I can’t write like a typewriter-and I have nice handwriting lol Ah well I ll keep on with my dumps and trying to make lists from them and trying to schedule them. Ryder Carroll invented this system to work with his ADHD brain! I highly recommend watching his video and the book is great too. The beauty is you can make it work for you. If you get bored with it, change it up. Forget to do it for a while? Flip the page and start again. Get curious about why a task was not completed. Did it need to be broken down into a smaller task? Is it not important or relevant anymore? Good luck!

I tried bullet journaling at the beginning of last year, and quickly got frustrated by it not looking as beautiful and perfectly laid-out as most of the examples I could find online - I'm not much of an artist, and seeing all of those 'perfect' journals with gorgeous illustrations and not a single drop of ink out of place was frankly depressing and I quickly lost my motivation to try to keep up with the journal. But this, like most of your videos, really cuts the concept down to easier, more achievable steps and has wonderful focus on not trying to make it 'perfect'. After watching, I went and dug out my old bullet journal, removed the few pages I filled out from last year, and followed your ideas for the layout (personalizing by switching a few pages around and adding a few I feel will benefit my lifestyle more.) Thank you so much for another lovely and inspirational video!

For several years now I have wanted and attempted to start a bullet journal. I’d buy a few supplies here and there, I’d sketch page ideas on notebook paper, but somehow, when it came time to start, I never felt my journal was good enough. I know that thought is just silly. I know my bullet journal/planner is only for me, but when I look at all those beautiful Pinterest worthy pages others have posted, I feel I’m just too far lacking in artistry and creativity to continue and I quit before I really ever even got started. Today, however, something changed. I watched your video about starting a minimalist journal and I really enjoyed it. It inspired me to start again and since I’m now divorced, have a child away at college and one who spends a week at at a time with his father, I have way too much free time. THANK YOU for giving me the inspiration and the confidence to try again. I am truly grateful! ❤️

At the bottom I write down things that I'm thinking of buying in the future or things I'm saving for like a vacation or dishwasher and the debt I'm working on paying off. This is how I figured out what bills I have every month and how much they are! ☺️ And I finally got a handle on spending and saving after years of struggle.

I used mine for quite a while until I was out of work and then found I didn't have enough to fill it. If you want to add a little "fun" without getting overwhelmed with artistry, just use a different color pen for each month. I finally realized what satisfied my creative itch, but didn't get me overwhelmed was picking two colors for each month. What I was struggling with was the layouts. I really like these layouts a lot. They are simple, to-the-point and cover pretty much everything I'm looking to cover. I like setting aside that time each week/month to set up the layout and do the review/retrospective of the week. I've been keeping a bullet journal for three years. I started out very fawncy 🏯 but now it is completely minimal🏠. I do a month at a glance, a tiny list of goals for the month, and my monthly meditation log which I also have another huge journal for as it covers many years. Then I do my week at a glance. That's it. Since it is a new year I will probably do a year at a glance and I might include Level 10 goals and chart as that always wakes me up! For years I used some sort of daytimer and it was my most essential tool as a therapist. But now I'm working less and the flexibility of this system really suits me. I really loved the set-up and will definitely give it a shot and switch it up a little to my "artsy" likings. This video really inspired me to give bullet journaling a try. I really resonated with your description of feeling scatterbrained and having notes on random pieces of paper and digital notes all over the place. I have tried a journal for the last few years but there hasn't been much of a system and it just became a rolling to-do list scattered with random thoughts. I went through and setup a bullet journal for the month of may and it sounds crazy but I already notice a huge difference. Also I didn't understand the brain dump at first and thought it probably wasn't for me but now I'm wondering how I even functioned without putting all these random thoughts onto paper. Almost knowing that i have a place to put these thoughts has brought a lot of them bubbling to the surface.Thank you so so much for sharing!

I've found the most success using a bullet journal without the actual bullet journal system. Because then I'll feel like I keep repeating the same tasks that needs to move over. But the concept is great and I've been using it for on and off 2 years. Definitely helped track my progress when I wasn't working a 9-5 (it can sometimes feel defeating since there's no set schedules and validation from manager/coworkers/etc.) Also, it's wonderful to look back on the different stages of life!

I tried to keep a bullet journal a couple years back, and I was not successful at it. This video is really making me wanting to try again. I'm currently still making weekly to do lists on my phone, and then I delete the to do's when I'm done. More and more I've been wanting to look back at my deleted stuff and see what I've gotten accomplished throughout the year. These spreads looks like they'll make it easy for me to do so, without making too much pressure on myself to make things look "perfect" and "beautiful"

me watching this at 2022 want to say thank you so much for this. I got my interest to bujo because how artistic they are (and I love arts so much). But as a beginner, it's pretty overwhelming to see bullet journal videos which are so pretty, aesthetic, and full of creativities.. thinking that I might not make as good as them. That makes me cannot start at all! But this video saved me. It's so minimalistic with a very clear instructions and so simple!!! I immediately thinks "I can definitely do this much.." Thank you so much!!
@nurfarahhanun77952 жыл бұрын
When I just started bujo, I bought all those cute stickers and washi tapes that suits my aesthetic- thinking that a bujo should look aesthetic and pleasing in the eyes. Well, didn't manage to keep up doing all the pretty spreads for more than 5 weeks- I gave up. I felt so much pressure to maintain the aesthetic of my bujo, rather than to actually update my bujo with tasks. As time goes by, I realized that an effective bujo is all I need. You dont have to follow all the spreads that other youtubers shared but just take which one suits and works for you! 🌼 Now, my bujo is so simple- one highlighter and a black pen. And I have never been happier.
@apaiiyui84882 жыл бұрын
@@nurfarahhanun7795 yes exactly you have to find your middle in all this. We shouldn't put pressure on ourselvs on how others do them, because it's really super personal ☺️ and we should tell ourselvs that we can always change our bujo however we want, because it's you that make it. That's how I made myself today make mine 😂👍🏻 if we do a mistake, just change the page - redo or just correct with white pen or something like that 🙈 Thanks for your words it motivated me even if it wasn't directed to me 😊🌸

This is August. I have just seen this for the first time. I subscribed because of it. I have followed other BuJo KZbinrs who have been very detailed, and while I am attracted to the almost addictive attention to detail that they have, I honestly find it overwhelming. Your system, while slightly time consuming, is actually VERY simple and easy, without me yet getting into it...and I will get into it. I wanted to start for September, but it dawned on me that I didn’t even know what I wanted to do/track. This has provided clarity. I wish you the very best for the rest of 2020, and God bless you (I am a believer, so I try to spread the good of Christianity instead of the negativity that abounds today). Have a wonderful week!

Thanks, this was really helpful. A friend just told me about this method and all the videos I've seen today have been total nonsense to my head. Thank you for putting this together!

I really like your weekly layout. I've been trying to figure out how to incorporate an hourly agenda, since that's what has been keeping me somewhat organized during this quarantine (and I realized I should keep a journal rather than my stack of dozens of sheets of printer paper w/notes). Your way works great, still gives plenty of room for to-do tracking/notes, and the agenda. And your "minimal" is already much more than I had started off doing. 2020 hasn't gone the way any of us anticipated or wanted it to, but I'm trying to reclaim some control. Thanks!.

It's nearing the end of 2022 now, and I finally bit the bullet so to speak and bought a bullet journal. I'll be eighteen in the beginning of next year, and I have decided to graduate this December and move out of my parents' place in either January of February, so with the summer finally over I can dedicate some time to organizing my next move and planning for the future ahead. I also plan on going to trade school as soon as I leave, and having a system of this nature would help me immensely, I'm sure. I've not once been consistent with keeping a journal in my life, but I think this method is what I've been needing. Especially with the advice of keeping it simple. Thank you for this video, it was straight to the point but also very eloquent.

I'm French and not fluent in English, so please excuse my potential language mistakes. I'm an artist and I "bullet journal" for around 2 years. My design has always been very minimal. (I let my creativity express in work. Never in my organization system. Otherwise, I'm even more distracted that I'm by nature !) I always thought that trackers were a trap for me. Because I'm an anxious and perfectionist person. And I tend to be very tough with myself (not accepting failures, too much self made pressure on my shoulders...). So, I never integrated trackers for my "mind safety". As you well say in mid-video, I tend to criticize me a lot with this system. But your way of using random period trackers opened my mind ! I feel for long time that I need to be aware of what I do and what I've done to keep progressing on setting good and healthy habits (in work, spiritually and other stuffs to deal with). I never saw trackers in that way ! It's quite refreshing ! I'm going to try ! Thank you for this advice ! You are a very kind person. Your smile and your energy are so smooth. It's a peace for the mind and so helpful ! Keep going ! Take care !

I realised if I was organised I could get everything done and feel more relaxed. I've spent the last few days trying to work out the best way to organise my thoughts and time. Your technique is so simple, beautiful and achievable. I initially thought the whole writing out dates etc would be really tedious, but I've given up social media in the last month so I'm absolutely certain I can make the time. Thank you again for your thoughtful, elegant tutorial. I'll be going back and watching it a number of times. God bless.
