Thank you for this video! Loved it and it was very easy to follow. It would be a great feature if we were able to create an AWS read replica that does logical replication under the hood and then also easily promote it as the new primary. All handled by AWS RDS.

Thank you. Great presentation. Quick question - if I have a logical replica feeding off the instance which is to be upgraded, how can we swtich it to the new, upgraded instance? Will the existing replica be able to start from where it left off?

It might be logical to ask that you've a bunch of scripts to execute and nobody has a clue what's inside those scripts .

Ques, how do we consider this Logical Replication approach as minimal downtime? It doesn't support Schema changes which means, it's not a appropriate strategy for a really critical databases. Some critical db owners consider restrictions of schema changes as downtime too..
