Decluttering will not make you a minimalist. And in this video, I want to talk about the things that are more important, about consumption, mindsets, and what I think will help you the most to live a fulfilled life, not dictated by stuff and clutter.

You spoke of two really key points that most other KZbinrs/ minimalists do not point out….first it is about the RELATIONSHIP to our things that is what is most important and second, that one of the main goals is to actually not be thinking about or dealing with our stuff but rather actually getting to the point where we can just live our life and spend our time and attention on what we really value. Thank you so much for this video! It was very validating for me. Right now I am at a point of trying to actually build a very curated and intentional, small wardrobe. I was actually really concerned because I am making a lot of purchases and it’s taking up so much of my thoughts, time and energy. I was concerned I am just going back into some ‘materialistic’, vain , shopping spree…but deep down I know I’m not. It’s just that not many speak about the details of this spot I’m currently in. How conflicting it can feel. I have decluttered so much and continue to mindfully. That felt so good but this acquiring again feels good in the sense that I am extremely ‘conscious’ and mindful and slow about what I am acquiring and I am starting to see how I really can have a very small wardrobe when I purchase more high quality ( natural fabric) items and how I can be much more satisfied and content with so few items rather then many. The acquiring part just has an element of concern that just comes with it after the focus being decluttering and the ‘high’ of it. I hope that makes sense.watching your videos helps me on the journey so much. You are so authentic, I really appreciate you.

I like an idea you mention in this video and you talked about in some previous videos. We need to appreciate what we have and understand that new items don't bring true values in our lives. I don't have much money, so I don't have a possibility to buy a lot of new stuff. Before I'd met your channel, I was stuck in this circle of wanting to have less and desiring to have smth new to get this portion of easy dopamine. This is also about ecological issues, we need to take everything from each item.Thank you a lot! Now I'm trying to concentrate on what I have because I have just enough for me :)

Needing to buy things because it makes us feel better is an addiction. It won't make us happy any more than drugs, sex food or any addiction. We have to figure out what we are trying to escape through these things. Dealing with our deep seated issues is what we have to address.

Thank you for this video. It was very refreshing! It’s always good to remember why we do the things we do (like decluttering). Sometimes we get so caught up in minimizing our stuff, we forget why we are doing it.

Yes the relationship with our stuff is really worth looking into. So many times we buy something (I am guilty of it!) on the rush of it being fresh, new, and nice. The first excitement. Very soon after that there is practically nothing left from that excitement, just another thing in the set of other things. Just a little bit more choice when usually we stick to the same 2-3 stuff anyway. I now have a tactic in the shop that I try to imagine how I would feel about this thing I feel tempted to buy in a matter of months or year of having it. Of course you can never know which purchase turn out to be the most valuable one later but getting into that „not excited” zone helps to then pass indifferently next to that new shiny thing. It is only when thought of that thing comes back to me later, when I cannot forget about after leaving the store, I believe more this is probably something I would really value later.

Organizing and minimizing and decluttering are not the same thing and I feel like so many videos I watch on it that advertise minimalism, etc. actually buy 100 organizing tools (bins, baskets, etc.) and are actually just organizing the clutter. There is very little letting go of things.
