Thank you for sharing. Also finally have my laundry under control, using many of these same methods. For me the biggest hurdle for laundry was my own mental state of mind. I finally accepted how Blessed I am to have a washer and dryer, and laundry to changed into,,as well as accept the fact that laundry is just a thing that has to be done on a regular basis. Once I changed my state of mind, completing the laundry process regularly was easy.

It is amazing how much our state of mind can affect our outlook on life. Thank you for the reminder of how truly blessed anyone who has a washer and dryer is!

I do laundry on Fridays(my 9& 10 do their own these same days too) and Mondays. I do this so that we have clean clothes for the weekend, then wash the weekend clothes so we have clothes for the week. I tried it all and this was the best method for me. Also, sheets and blankets are washed on my Fridays for clean sheets for the week.

Thanks, I will try to do laundry 3 to 4 times a week instead of 2 so I don't have 3 loads on Saturday! Great tips Kassy!

Are you a stay@home mom? I need a schedule how I can do this working full time. Do you have any advice?
@kassyeichele2 жыл бұрын
Hi Cherise! If you work outside the home, you can put a load in the washer when you get hone from work, then switch the laundry to the drier either before or after dinner (depending on how long your washer takes), then you can fold before you go to bed or in the morning before you leave for work. Another option would be starting the washer when you wake up, switching right before you leave for work, then folding when you get home. If you work from home, you can start with putting the laundry in the washer before you start work, switch it during your lunch break (or during a morning break), then fold after work (or during an afternoon break). Also if you have children, this is a great chore for them. My 4 year old loads and starts the washer each morning, my 7 year old switches the clothes to the drier, then they each fold their own clothes in the afternoon and all I have to do is fold for my baby, husband, and I.

I want to try this because I hate having my weekend devoted to laundry. One thing I was worried about is it seems this way you wouldn't separate heavier clothes like jeans from lighter weight items like t shirts or undergarments. I've noticed when I do it that way the clothes don't seem to dry very well. Do you have any tips to help with that

Hi Jessica, I hope you like changing your laundry routine! I personally haven't had any problems with clothing not getting dry. I have an older dryer and it seems to work pretty well in getting all the clothes dry, but I know newer dryers tend to be more energy efficient and I've heard of them having troubles getting the clothes dry enough. You could easily either have two hampers where jeans and heavy duty items go into one and delicate items go into the other. Then you would just rotate which hamper goes into the washing machine. Or you could also sort your washing (if you don't want to have the two hampers) and do a load of jeans one day and a load of delicates the next. I hope that helps!

How do you dry it when you're doing it so often? I don't have a dryer nor the space to dry it hanging around. Nor would Monday's clothes be dry by the time Tuesday's is done, especially in winter. I also work full time. Any tips?

Maybe you don't need to do it every day if you don't have many people in your family. You may have to do a maximum of every other day for washing to give things time to dry :)
