Thanks for the info. Funny in that my turkey vest is thrown behind the front seat of the truck and rides there the entire season. I use it to store my gear in and when I hit the woods I grab my shotgun, box call, a green head lamp, my binoculars and some camouflage netting. Things like gloves and face mask are usually worn and if not go in one of my pockets. That is about all I've been carrying with me in the woods the past several years. Don't get me wrong, I love my vest and it has got 20 plus years of use, but I prefer the minimalist concept and you have enlightened me to look at something new in the future. Thanks.

If I can the chest rig is all I will take. The satchel helps me carry my Montana decoys ms purrfect a bit easier tho! Plus lunch and water.

i been looking at chest rigs a bit. my main question is what do you sit on? not having a fold down seat is what keeps me from abandoning my vest. the reason i bought my particular vest is that it has a back support stadium style seat.

If I’m going to sit for a long time blind calling I bring a turkey chair. If I’m running and running I sit on the ground.

Does the chest rig get in the way of backpack straps? I backcountry hunt and have debated on moving away from a traditional binoharness and getting something like this

Not at all, check out my latest videos hunting with it. I am wearing suspenders to hold up my hunting pants, the chest rig, and a tethrd saddle with saddle suspenders. Haha I’m pretty strapped up but everything works out!

I typically just sit on the ground up against a tree. Sometimes I’ll take a small cushion with me if it’s wet.

I usually have a shotgun, my bag, and Montana ms. Purrfect decoy. this year I’ll be taking the longbow some as well. I use the Montana decoys because they are easy to collapse and carry.

@@Leehealy-wheninthewoods am am new to turkey hunting. Love me some bow hunting deer. Like to carry only what I need but like to be comfortable. Just debating decoys or not. And sort of seat if I carry one.

I have never enjoyed carrying a full size turkey chair. I usually default to just sitting in the ground. A small cushion can help avoid sitting on a thorn though 😂
