Damn! If you can pull this off in 15 mins (plus some tinkering), well...! Honestly it's stunning.

I absolutely love this Chris! Isn’t it amazing how that extra little play time and adding the vermillion just finished this piece! 😍😍 Wonderful work, thanks so much for sharing!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Thank you so much, Jackie! I love walking away from a painting for a few minutes or longer and how the missing piece seems to jump right out at you.
@jackieswe Жыл бұрын
@@chrisloudart absolutely! I've been noticing as well when I take a photo of work I think is complete and I look at the photo on the phone I can see where it's lacking, it's like looking at it from a different perspective. I've realised this recently with IG, so in future I'll be really checking the photo first to see what further work is needed! I've reworked so many pieces after posting😅
@chrisloudart Жыл бұрын
Haha, I thought I was the only one who did that. My latest method is to put the finished piece on the wall for a few days and see if I notice anything I want to change before calling it 'Final'. Doesn't always work though.

Lovely painting - wouldn't this one be wonderful all grown up to big boy size? Do you ever paint large? I would love to see an extended video where you maintain your seemingly spontaneous brushwork. Thanks, Chris.
@chrisloudart Жыл бұрын
Thanks, Ann! It's funny you ask about larger paintings. I just wrote on my to do list for today to gesso some larger canvases. I have always been a fast painter, but I'm sure part of the "seemingly spontaneous brushwork" is due to the video being sped up.

Love this! Looks so effortless ! Can I ask what brand of paints you mainly use?
@chrisloudart Жыл бұрын
Thanks, Deborah! I use a lot of Winsor & Newton Galleria Acrylic and Grumbacher Academy. I find those both to be good quality paints and not too expensive. With that said, I also have a hodgepodge of other brands from Liquitex to Artists Loft to little tubes of very inexpensive paint that someone gave me.

Thanks, Lucinda! Absolutely, Ian Roberts is amazing. I've watched many of his videos. Ian breaks composition and color down in a way that makes painting look so easy, effortless, and accessible to anyone. Quite inspiring!
