Hey Kyra! I know you don’t want to be taking sponsorships etc, but there are lots on minimal youtubers who do (like Sarah Nourse) but with companies/products that save you money or help you to be more minimal. Speaking as a long-time subscriber I don’t think your community would see it as “selling out” or anything especially since KZbin is your full-time job! We want to see you thrive! 💕 Or maybe play around with the idea of starting a patreon account? Obv no pressure, but we love your content and want to see you succeed! 💁🏻‍♀️

I agree! It feel terrible everytime she shares that she still makes minimum wage on youtube. She has so much potential I always comment that she deserves to be paid more for all her dedication! I think Kyra would find a healthy balance with with sponsorships and it wouldnt be a sell out shes is very mindful and intentional with her content!

I make my own liquid laundry soap using a recipe with washing soda, borax, fels naptha, and a little bit of any liquid detergent (you can use Tide, it will take on the scent of whatever you put in). I use the recipe by Prepper Princess and it takes literally minutes to make 5 gallons of it. I make it in an old cat litter bin. It saves me a lot of money and it cleans SO well. All of the ingredients are made for laundry so it won't mess up the machine (like Castille soap will). It's also pretty eco friendly because you won't have to buy hardly any detergent. HIGHLY recommend Kyra!!

I second adding white distilled vinegar, and I also add a 2-3 tbsp of Baking soda to the wash cycle. That combo makes my clothes soft, without using fabric softener in the wash or dryer sheets in the dryer.

Hey Kyra, I literally just finish making my own laundry soap. It's super cheap and it makes a five gallon bucket. It's my second time making. First time I made it was a year and four months ago. That's how long it lasted me. So, granted it's just me at home but still that's pretty awesome. I'm a nurse's aide and I have to wash my uniforms every week, towels, linens, pillows etc. Its the best thing I've ever discovered. All you need is a bar of laundry soap, Arm & Hammer washing soda and a five gallon bucket. I'll send you a link to the KZbin channel where I got the instructions from. Let me know what you think. It's Becky's Homestead channel. She makes her own bath soap as well. That's my next new adventure.

Yea a lot of people have been suggesting this for years but unfortunately in Massachusetts tenants are not allowed to put portable washers and dryer‘s in their units it’s against the lease agreement. This is mainly because the tenant is not responsible for the water bill the landlord is. Tenants in Massachusetts only pay for gas and lights. So if I was to get a washer that hooked up to the sink Our landlord will know right away due to the water bill going up. They also do apartment checks twice a year so it’s kind of hard to hide a giant washer. It is a great idea and if it was allowed I would definitely go that route.

@@Living.minimal You can wash clothes by hand and get a spin dryer to drain out most of the water out of your clothes. It wouldn't be considered a washing machine and I got one for about $150.00 from Amazon and it is perfect to ring out your clothes and hang to dry or throw in the dryer. I had one for years before buying my portable washing machines and I still use it so no one has to constantly hear a washing machine going. It is also pretty quiet.

Ever since I moved with my bf we have a laundry Matt in the building and it’s always $2 🙌🏼 which is a huge life saver and I’m so grateful for those washers. I remember rushing to the laundry Matt back then and hoping they weren’t closed so I could wash at least my work gear that smelt like fried fish 🤢. Somehow I don't get how those Unpaper towels are saving you money... I agree 100% that they are more environmentally friendly. But you have to wash them for 2 dollars after every use and spend your time hanging and folding them, and your time is worth some money too...?
@Living.minimal
@Living.minimal 3 жыл бұрын
They save me money because I only wash them once a month since I have more than enough to last us for a month. I don’t mind spending my time having them to try since that’s kinda free 🤷🏻‍♀️ if you really think about it lol. My time is worth money but it literally only takes me less than 2 minutes to hang them up and folding them is no problem either. I rather spend the $2 to wash them each month. Than to spend $10 or more a month to keep repurchasing paper towels that are killing the environment along with my wallet. Also it takes me more time to go to the store to grab those items and waste more money on gas. Lol long story short I’m happy with paying the $2 a month for these instead of the others. But that’s just my own opinion.
