With Ms.Larsson everything in it's place, and every place has what it needs only. I must say that is a simple way to make life worth living. Awesome and lovely, and inspiring indeed!

I’m getting more interested in being more practical rather than having things for the sake of it. In the Uk, we don’t usually have our laundry machines in the bathroom- I’m starting to think it’s quite practical - if you have a big enough room. Who thought I’d be interested in watching a laundry video. I’m loving your channel too. My cousin lives in Stockholm. I need to visit him to go shopping too :) merry Christmas

I never minded doing laundry or ironing always feels like a reset when the house is cleaned, laundry done, feet up with a good book and have something cooking on the stove especially during the fall and winter months ♥ Loved the shape of the hangers used for drying, keeps the shoulders of the tops from having shoulder marks.

Your videos have motivated me to finally declutter my own apartment, especially my kitchen and wardrobe. Somehow I had collected over 40 tshirts over the years and only really wore a handful of them while the rest collected dust. In the kitchen I donated a lot of the stuff I had been gifted and was scared to get rid of. In the end I could get rid of an entire bookshelf worth of assorted stuff, and the shelf itself! Thank you for all the videos with all the little tips and tricks!

I watched all of your videos, and I appreciate cleaning, decluttering and organizing videos this one the most. They are not only calming and relaxing but also informative in a visually aesthetic way. I watch them when I need to sit down and take a break in the middle of a hectic stressful day or when I get the urge to kick down the door and burn everything down in my teenage boy’s room (I don’t know if it’s a boy thing or a teenager thing or both but his room oftentimes looks like a pig sty and smells like one, too on bad days). I find hope and comfort in your videos like this one that one day my son will move out and I can reclaim my space and make it minimal and beautiful like your apartment :)

Last week, we had incredible weather (20°). So I was able dry on clothesline. And yes, whatever the packaging says: whites have to be washed in hot water. I was given my first own washer 2 weeks ago. Game changer! No bleach, just hot water for whiter whites✨ (Our laundromat is set with 20°water tops)
@BenitaLarsson4 жыл бұрын
Whaaat?! 20 is basically cold! Good for you having your own machine now!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
@Poppy-4 жыл бұрын
@@BenitaLarsson I know, right? Here, most washers are build like this: hot, warm (½-½), cold, straight from the pipes. No heather IN the machine (I actually didn't even know they existed untill European friends told me). So you have no real control, therefore the cold water in summer (20°) has nothing to do with the cold water in winter (4°) which arrives straight from the aqueduct. My landlord is responsible for the lowering of the _hot_ cycle. And thanks! Even if it's plugged to my kitchen sink when in use, I'm really happy ☺️

I changed from liquid to powder this last year as the power comes in a cardboard box instead of plastic While I find that I get some light power marks on some dark clothes occasionally I am feeling better about less plastic bottles. We have a company here in New Zealand now that makes genuine non petrochemical sugar based " plastic" containered products that they are now asking to be returned ned for recycling ♻ a genuine attempt at closed cycle production

Hi Jacqueline, I’m a New Zealander living in Australia. I’m really interested in the product you are talking about if you could please reply. We can probably buy it here. I buy powder detergent at the moment, in cardboard, from Aldi. Not sure how sustainable it is though. Thank you.

So love your minimalist style, aesthetic and perfectionist tendencies. I, too remove labels, decanting if possible. I enjoy doing laundry, a type of zen for the rhythm of my home. I also do the fluff in the dryer, and then hang the clothes on hangers or drying bars. I have an extending drying rack that compresses when not in use in my little laundry closet on the main floor of our home. With the door shut, people would think it is just a linen closet, but is quite a lovely laundry room. There is something so satisfying about beginning the week renewed and everything clean, nicely folded and put away. It is a simple joy that brings so much gratitude and satisfaction, and emphasizes I have everything I need.

Benita, have you ever tried 100% linen bath towels? A Reddit author explained why her family switched to linen and will never switch back to cotton terry. She said in addition to the progressive comfort of linen over time, their linen towels take up so much less space during laundering. And, she made (cut and hemmed) the towels herself using linen yardage bought online. I've been thinking about making the switch to linen, too.

If you haven’t tried sunlight to remove stains yet, I recommend it (especially during the summer when there is a lot of strong sunlight during the day). I had no idea how effective it was until I left a stained sweater out on my drying rack near a window in my apartment for a few days because I was waiting to buy a stain remover on my next shopping trip, and when I finally got the stain remover, I couldn’t even find the stain, because the sun had completely removed it. I wasn’t even sure a that the stain remover would work and I had thought I would have to get rid of the sweater. It was a red wine stain on a yellow knitted sweater, that hadn’t come out in my regular wash, and the stain was very large and noticeable. My guess is it got about 10 hours of direct sunlight and another 20 of indirect. The stain literally just vanished. My mother always hated all these domestic activities, so never really learned herself how to do laundry properly, so I’ve had to learn all these things my own through research and trial and error. This sunlight stain removing phenomenon is still kind of amazing to me.

Nice video, really love Neutral detergent, started using the colour liquid a few years ago, and it washes really well without any nasty perfumes (I hate chemical laundry smells) They stopped selling it in the UK. We have non bio (no Enzymes) for sensitive skin But it doesn’t wash out stains or smells like body odour which you need enzymes to break them down.

Your laundry hampers are so nice. I am currently turning my bedroom into a tiny studio because my housemates are driving me bonkers. I am looking for similar things. I will have to keep searching. I love a wicker or rattan hamper. the noise they make opening and closing is nice and they tend to smell wonderful Edit: actually you're right about the water temp from a chemistry perspective. Heat allows the fabrics to loosen up and relax the fibers which in turn loosens the hold on crud so when it gets spun or agitated it comes off more easily. I use some powders and things on mine. My whites almost never get dingy and bleach is not needed.
@BenitaLarsson4 жыл бұрын
I also love wicker and if I was buying a new set I’d go for that! Have had these for a decade now though and they are the perfects size for that spot, being no narrow. And thanks for confirming the heat!👍🏻
