My choices today shape my tomorrows this really speaks to me as I am in the process of making decisions I’m taking a step back from stress and anxiety and worry from my adult son and his wife I’ve had enough of disrespect and verbal abuse I’ve put up with this for 15 years because I didn’t want to loose my 2 granson’s I’ve honestly helped every way possible including financially but I must find peace I’m heading for my 60th birthday at the end of April I must respect myself by stepping away from toxicity it’s sad and I’d never have wanted it to happen but I feel I can’t waste anymore time as theirs more years behind me than what’s in front of me I must find peace in my soul thank you Connie for your wonderful peaceful video

I am right there with you, just thinking about this heavily the past few days. My adult 30 something daughter has been awful to me for years and I am ready to step way back...the hurt is too much as I remember the beautiful loving kind funny sweet child and girl I raised, she now is dismissive or hostile, has been physically, mentally and emotionally abusive for many years and as a mother I didn't want to give up hope but I now am at the point I do not think there is any way to recover so moving states and starting fresh may be a good idea for me. I wish you well in your journey to healing too.

I’m so sorry and know the feeling as well. I’ve been estranged from my oldest son (and 4 grandchildren) for 5 years now. He made the decision because I stood up and said I’m not just your babysitter. They had completely begun to disrespect me as a person and take advantage of my love for my grandchildren. It hurt like hell when it began to separate. It hurt for 2 years afterwards (as I beat myself up something terrible) and eventually I began to be myself again and I have a very nice life. I live in another state, have made friends, attend a lovely church and my other grown children come to visit me or I go visit them for holidays. yes, I miss seeing my grandchildren growing up, but I know they have a good life as their parents have them involved in everything. I have a blessed life at 66 and I’m not being treated badly by anyone 😊.

Truly, investing has changed my perspective on how one can succeed in life; working multiple jobs isn't the optimal way to attain financial freedom and unfortunately, we discover this later in life. Currently earn as much as 12 grand weekly and this has improved my financial life

What a wonderful video. The first part; especially was me several years ago with some slight differences. It was very hard for me to make friends in So. CA in an expensive area. Hard to fit in when you don't wear designer clothes and spend upwards of 50 dollars on lunches. I made an aquaintance who actually asked me why I am so cheap, because I didn't go to the movie theatre every week. I resisted over spending, but was lonely until we moved to a small town in Utah a few years ago. We live a simple life and have made a lot of friends that live a similar lifestyle. Thank you for always making such wonderful videos that make you think.

。✧*.。A life lesson。✧*.。: I've stopped listening to music that have toxic context; which have improved my life fr. Ppl don't really think about how much things we see and watch actually impact our thoughts and mood. Majority of the lyrics are negative and toxic (same goes with many TV-series/shows and movies). I hope this helps someone who’s stuck with toxic content. Toxic contents are good in the way that it can open our eyes and ears about what actually is toxic/bad/wrong - so we therefore can distance ourselves from toxicity. So observe, learn and act. Toxic things/people are just distractions... toxicity prevents us from being productive and growing as persons, so we need to replace these toxic patterns with healthy patterns: We need to respond and act the opposite of toxic (we need to respond and act with KINDNESS). Our purpose in life is to live and learn from our mistakes and therefore make this world better and SAFER. Instead of thinking "Why is this happening to me?" -> think "What can I learn from this?" Peace and love.

Thank you for making this video. I am motivated to pursue down sizing. Minimalizing my foot print. I am a retired teacher and now artist. My most valuable and essential possession since high school has been my easel and not all the "things" that have come and gone in my life. Looking back on my 66 years experiences and my paintings have only mattered. Thank you and please keep inspiring.

I wonder if this is of interest. I am 73 years old and live in UK. My mother had a diamond ring. I never knew its history as she died when I was young. I kept the ring in the loft as it was valuable! Two years ago I had it made into a gorgeous modern ring in "my" style. I had it made as a tight fit to never come off, however wet it might get and playing with the dogs. It is NOW my most treasured possession and I have been able to let go of lots of other jewellery because this piece is IT!!

It's tough resisting buying new stuff. I did this especially during the pandemic, as it brought me comfort (temporarily) until the newness wore off, so then I'd buy another new touchstone or clothing. I only have so much space in my 400 sq ft studio apartment, so I'm more selective these days. I Spring clean occasionally but am overdue. Thanks for your tips. Jenny

M I totally understand. I have to do the same thing with my kids. My sister with no children sort of took over my son and along with my ex husband has put him against me. He wont tell me what the issue is. The day she died he swore at me and put the phone down on me and that’s it. My daughter has mental health issues and ha taken herself out of the family. After spending years heartbroken and trying to renew these relationships, I now have to stop this emotional roller coaster of yes/no, hope/no hope and move on. Very hard.
