"For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield." Life is about how you live, not what you have. The greatest peace is found in simplicity and living for God. Thank you as always Connie!

Thanks Connie. I'm sitting here on the sofa anxious about going in to work because I've been upset about people there and their actions. I needed this. Thanks so much!

She can do this because she has wealth. 90% of the planet could never consider traveling the way she did and living “simpler” because it’s a challenge to get through each day

Y ¿cuál sería la intención de vida de tu hija, a la que arrastras por el mundo detrás de tus caprichos? Me pregunto ¿No será ella una rehén de tu absurda y egoísta forma de vivir?

Hi Great video. I hope it's okay to ask if you are wearing a wig in this video? It looks great and was hoping it is a wig, just to give me some hope. Either way, ty.

As i grow older, i resonate more and more with the idea of minimaalism, and although i still have many possessions, i am more aware of how they harness me and keep me tethered. I'm working now on following your advice about minimaalizing my closet, and also going through drawers, closets, paperwork, and kitchen utensils little by little with the intention of releasing them. That energy will free me up to bring more quiet gentleness into my life. I think some of this is a protest against the excessive need to possess "things" to feel happy. It's a journey.

So needed to hear this. Thank you. On journey 10 years in of trying for extreme minimalist. Love it. BFF who is very materialistic, sent me message she doesn't like how I'm living. Haha. Lost our home. Staying with friend in partially unfinished bungalow on a beautiful pond. Getting off grid training. Accepting n living n loving. Was able to lovingly explain all fine. I don't care what she "see" as not right living. These types will never get it . Oh well.

I have always been a mentalist, I guess. I hate to spend money or waste things. I learned from my precious mom. She was born in 1934 in a family of 12 kids. My son was taught by myself and his grandma. He is pretty good with his money. But, he says I’m tight.

How do you balance slow living with trying to live a meaningful life? The work I do is very meaningful to me, so I am okay with some stress. I plan on studying purpose development in adolescents and young adults in grad school.

Thanks so much for this. You tell some clear truths simply and honestly. We live on a canal boat and live in as sustainable and simple way as we can. The biggest lesson weI learned was that having enough is enough, there really is little need or no need for excess. Thanks for what you do here, it's wonderful to find inspiring people here. I only shop at the mall occasionally, I buy only if it's on sale or clearance. I go to a thrift store and find nice casual clothes for less than 8 dlls some brand new with tags on. one time I found 5 beautiful brand new expensive party dresses with price tags 15 dlls, to 25 dlls. I got them for less than 5 dlls. ea. at the thrift store for my great grand-daughter.

I love that you packed all you owned into a suitcase. That's something two people I know were able to do in their teens/early twenties and it was inspiring and got me to live towards minimalism shortly afterwards. I am glad you don't want to fit in like the Joneses but instead want to be like Connie Riet. :) Keep valuing yourself. I don't think I'd ever see an Eddie Vedder lyric/quote used for minimalism, but good job!
