I’m part of the Costco cult lol 🙋🏻♀️ Cost of living in Hawaii is crazy so it’s the best way to get affordable quality food (they have a lot of organic options!). Product packaging could definitely be improved though, and I agree, must go in with a set list! Ps. You guys are the cutest!!! So happy for you 💗

I love Costco!! Pro tips, wait for sales (they rotate). Use redflagdeals to check if you have people taking pics of everything new and on sale at your local Costco. Be as zen as possible before you go, it can be rough (rush hours are bad! at least in Montreal).

As you said in the video, you have to be selective about what you buy. But especially with Brexit looming, along with a high probability of shortages because of issues trucking things in from Europe, it's a nice option to have. In France, their cheese and wine selections were pretty phenomenal, and at the one I used in the States, they had a weirdly huge range of kosher for Passover stuff that was way cheaper than the going rate at the kosher grocery store or regular supermarket. If you go during the week, it's usually a little less insane, in my experience.

I used to find the concept of Costco baffling in my 20's. But in my 30's, I lived rural in the prairies of the USA (think Saskatchewan)...and Costco was the best thing going. I had to drive 100 miles to get to one, so I really stocked up. The tricky thing is that it's very easy to end up spending 500 dollars in one visit, especially since you always feel you can return. I still do Costco but watch my expenditures much more closely.

I think Costco is worth it and super economical if you use everything you get, like you mentioned 🙌🏼 we get the exact same things every time we go to Costco (our main essentials) plus like to try a couple new things if we see it every so often. If we don’t end up finishing something before it goes bad we stop getting it from there. TP 🧻, PPT, and garbage bags are a MUST from here. Also cleaning supplies like dishwasher pods, laundry detergent, dish soup, will literally last years if you have the space it’s so worth it. We never get household items at the normal groceries store anymore 🤗

If you’re looking for an electric toothbrush, I recommend the Fairywill one on Amazon! It is about half the price of an Oral B, does the same job, and the brush heads are much cheaper. Oral B is doing the same thing Gillette does, charge you absurd prices for the part you need to use the product

I live by myself so I do not shop at Costco but it is a great place to shop at. Additionally Costco tends to sell higher quality merchandise. Here in the US we also have Sams Club which is a competitor to Costco. Some supermarkets have bulk products and some do not. I am not sure if Whole Foods has bulk products or some of the other natural food supermarkets. The supermarket I shop at does not offer bulk foods. In order to keep product packaging out of the land fills many places now offer recycling. Another thing is if something comes in a container than reuse that container for something else once it is empty. There are many ways to reduce our carbon foot print. Thank you for the video.

Costco is hit and miss I feel but it's worth it if you go through say a lot of coffee or coconut oil then you can buy it in bulk and it kinda saves you a bit of money in the long run. I find your points about Costco, contradict each other. Almost every grocery store except for expensive one's in big city have a lot of plastic packaging. Also the whole thing about maing sure you don't buy things you don't need, is for sure true but just like any other store they use the same method of the isle's to make you buy more then you need!
@justjoelee3 жыл бұрын
yes but a lot of Costco products are individually wrapped and bulked up. Costco makes it even more appealing to buy things you don't need becuase of their price per volume when compared to a normal grocery store.
@michaelk50943 жыл бұрын
@@justjoelee With Costco's products having wrapped in singl plastic is correct for sure, although with so many companies you cannot just implement every brand to have re-usable packaging. Especially with all of the types of products that rely on the plastic packaging to keep them fresh longer. Costco said by 2030 they hope to move to more eco-friendy and more sustanabile packaging. Also the price per volume is the whole buissness model along with the membership program which go hand-in-hand. Offering the good prices they offer with the large quantities of the product is the wole aspect of Costco. Although, you can't come at only Costco, there are other brands that do the same thing like; Sams Club, BJ's Wholesale Club, Target, and Walmart, etc.
