This was such a BLESSING. I quit doing Christmas 5 years ago after a tremendous amount of studying the scriptures. Honestly I am a mother of 5 grown children with many beautiful grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. The debt that I had every Christmas was beyond stressful. I couldn’t even pay it off before the next Christmas came. I realized in my studies many truths, it IS NOT our blessed Messiah’s birthday, it is a made up day. In giving it up, some of my family felt like I was giving up my precious Jesus, but it’s the opposite. I’ve never felt closer to him. I started keeping the Fathers feast. They are eternal and for all people who bind themselves to him. Oh my what a BEAUTIFUL BLESSING they have become. I look forward to every one of them. His laws and statues are ETERNAL. Please brothers and sisters start in the front of the Bible and read it from beginning to end when done start again. Never stop. His BLESSINGS are immeasurable. BLESSINGS to all of you 🙏🙌🙏

YHWH removed the veil from my eyes and mind about 10 years ago. He showed me the adoption of pagan practices and calling them Christian by the early Catholic Church was NOT BIBLICAL. The Apostles of the New Testament are the example of what we are to do. I now question everything I was once taught was the TRUTH as taught by the ‘church’. YHWH will show you the truth BUT you have to really want to know it and then be obedient to Worship Him in Spirit and in Truth John 4:23 He first showed me that the weekly Sabbath is still to be observed. Look in the scriptures and try and find anywhere where YHWH said I am abolishing the 4th commandment. If you are prepared to insist on only worshiping in truth and obey this commandment he will give you more revelation and show you where the is error in church doctrine. It’s not an easy road to follow but we’re not promised it will be easy but it’s certainly worth being set free from a lie!

When people get cranky and grouchy because they are running around ragged fighting over buying presents and getting good deals and cutting each other off with shopping carts and cars... they forfeit the whole concept of Christmas! I found that people tend to ask politely "so are you ready for Christmas?" and what they mean is... did you get all your presents already.... did you get your Christmas tree up, did you run yourself into the ground getting your 'to do list' done... etc.? My answer to them is: "Why yes! I have all my nativity scenes up, along with some lights and candles. I have all my Christmas cards mailed (with nativity scenes on them), I have been singing all the Christian Christmas songs about the birth of Christ, and I have my groceries bought for the big meal (maybe a few last minute things later) ! So yeah, I'm rrreeeaddy!!! There is this puzzled look of perplexity like huh? What about the presents, the tree, santa clause, snow men, mistletoe and jingle bells? "Oh, we don't do any of that." The look in response is priceless. I just can't wait for the next one to ask me.

My husband and I physically began quitting Christmas about 15 yrs ago. Emotionally I began quitting 35 yrs ago when learning the pagan association with the traditions and the “date”. About 20 yrs ago I was becoming curious about biblical holidays, of which Christmas was NOT one. To me, the 25th was fake. The question from me continues: why do Christians continue to celebrate what God does NOT command in His Word and NOT celebrate His appointed times that He does command? I just couldn’t reconcile justifying man’s traditions (religious with secular) if it wasn’t based on God’s command or even truth of the specifics outside of the fact that Jesus actually did come to this earth as the Messiah prophesied throughout the Old Testament. That fact we should memorialized every day.
@gerriebell2128Күн бұрын
For a similar reason to the Jews adding Purim and Hanukkah to their calendar. The night Jesus was born, God sent angels SINGING and celebrating. If Jesus had not been born a human being, we would have no savior. The “date” is irrelevant. You could see it as “redeeming” a non Christian holiday into something that celebrates the coming of Emmanuel. The gifts and decorations are a different issue.
@kristenspencer9751Күн бұрын
@@gerriebell2128 Good point! Bible says God looks upon the heart. If someone keeps the focus on Christ and wants to celebrate the coming of our Savior, that's a wonderful thing! Christmas...The Mass or 'Celebration' of Christ...in and of itself is GOOD! But since Constantine more or less created the thing by declaring Dec 25 as the date to honor the birth of Jesus (despite what may appear as "good intensions)... the balance is far, far off and other things competing for our attention that are hard to ignore. Children way more look forward to Santa and presents than to Jesus. Our church Christmas Services require a lot of time and energy to prepare for and last only 1 hour. You can't keep folks too long on Christmas...don't cha know! That's not to say that God can't work through this. But there's a reason why many folks feel stressed, lonely, depressed etc. it's a charade that folks wake up to when the bills come. When kids are bored with their toys. When it's all over with, THEN WHAT?

@@kristenspencer9751 200 years ago and before, the celebration of Christmas was not as commercialized as now. It is each person’s choice how to acknowledge or celebrate Christ’s birth. It can be done with lots or little stress. You can teach your children what to focus on, by your own choices and example. A long time ago I was in a church that taught all the things being said here. But then I left and found out the true significance of Christ’s birth circumstances, and how those things fulfilled prophecies and proof that Jesus is the Messiah. As for the Holy Days, it is totally possible to displease God in how you celebrate those too. In Amos 5:21-22, God told Israel “I hate your feasts…” So I decided not to throw the baby out with the bath water, and started to celebrate Christmas. For me personally, I decorate as an expression of my JOY and thankfulness for the Messiah’s miraculous birth. To each his own, like it says (in the principles discussed) in Roman’s 14. There is a scripture that says “don’t let others judge you in days or feasts.” I’m a senior citizen, so I do keep things simple… going overboard would be ridiculous for me🤪.

@@gerriebell2128I liked to read your comment(s) but I disagree... For one, the feasts of Purim and Chanukkah weren't just random dates to be added. Secondly, they are VERY distinct from the appointed feasts. There is a world of difference between them, in every aspect of the feasts and their traditions and rules and just everything. Thirdly - God's people were instructed to precisely NOT redeem artefacts, traditions, materials etc from foreign worship, when encountering such. The ordee was to DESTROY every last bit of it, with the clear command to not make any "common ground" between God's worship and service and the Pagan ones. THAT is why we don't celebrate this feast.

I respectfully disagree with the lies that have been told about it being a Pagan holiday. We know from the early churches when the Immaculate Conception was celebrated (around March 25) and we know when Mary visited John the Baptist’s mother (Elizabeth) was around that time. John’s father would have been at the Temple before the Passover season. Add 9 months to March 25 and you get December 25. It’s obviously not the exact date, but it’s close. I celebrate Christ every day, but His birth, death and resurrection are special events when I celebrate, the way Jesus liked to celebrate joyous occasions.

Your right! It was not originally pagan. It was 200 or so give or take years when the date was decided in the way you describe before the pagan calibrations. They took them from that which was originally decided by Christians. Nevertheless, I gave up the tree. All the other hoopla, I have no problem with others celebrating it, the traditions are not pagan, Santa no more, but I still decorate with poinsettias, and other winter decor. Wreaths, bells, pine, bows, red birds, plaid prints, snowflakes, snow men, manager scene etc. Peace!

Luke 1:26 says Gabriel was sent to Mary in the 6th month, this 6 months after John's conception (Luke 1:36) was So John's conception would have been in Nissan, and the Messiah's conception would have been around near the end of October on the Gregorian calendar. The Immaculate Conception is celebrated on December 8th, which would put Messiah's birth in line with what I believe is likely a 9/11 birth date, but I'm not going to argue with scripture.

But to set aside one day a year (it doesn't really matter when-and I just learned that Jews used to count the day of conception as the birthday, which could very possibly have been late December for Jesus;') for Christians to celebrate His birthday, is a blessing I pray we never lose in this country. I try to celebrate my spouse and children's birthdays big time. Therefore, I believe I should celebrate even more so for the Savior of my soul. (P.S. This is our second Christmas not celebrating. I’ve shown my 12 year old son scripture saying it’s a sin, to celebrate non biblical holidays, and now it’s been easier because he understands how important it is to obey God.

It's hard b/c Christmas is "fun!" Your teen daughter may come to the same conclusion you have when she's older, but right now...especially as a young teen...it probably doesn't make sense. All the "fun" aspects are more fun than Jesus. Jesus gets 1 hour at a Christmas Eve service. Santa and frosty and parades; trees, and decorations and gift exchanges and parties last for weeks! I personally don't believe there is anything wrong with a winter festival. It's only natural for people to want to have something to get them through the dark and cold of winter and bring a bit of cheer. The hard part is when a certain date was declared to be a 'religious' occasion and we merge the two. Maybe start slow by keeping some traditions (like making cookies and giving only 1 gift) but eliminate others (Santa, tree etc.)
@Theninjakid2012Күн бұрын
@ I’ve worked really hard to create new family traditions around this time of year and make it as fun as possible. Like tomorrow while I’m off work, we are going to bake cookies, drink cocoa, watch movies in bed. She still got some new clothes and toys that she has received throughout the week. We also don’t have family nearby and it’s not in our budget to travel which is making it harder on her.

What verse says it's a sin to celebrate Christmas? I think that's a stretch. Scripture never addresses whether to celebrate Christ's birth or not. God gives us liberty in certain areas.

This holiday was created to align with other holidays. Many people don't even celebrate it in a Christ like manor. There is no Santa. People use their hard earned money to buy gifts. Giving is best done when it's to those.who are in need and done in secret. Also, giving, helping and most importantly Jesus should be all year long.
@kristenspencer9751Күн бұрын
You may have a point. We use "Christmas" as our primary witness. We go caroling, put up manger scenes, do live nativities and elaborate church services. And then declare that Jesus is the reason for the season. The rest of the year, we're pretty quiet.
@lindabelmonte1Күн бұрын
@kristenspencer9751 no one can be like Christ. That's why he died for our sins. Every day we can try our best to act like him. Giving is also about helping some with a task, saying a kind word, being there for a person who needs company. Giving isn't always about material things. All of us have something to give all year long.

Why would you stop Xmas if you don't think it has to do with salvation? I am so torn about this. My adult children celebrate it after they were taught not to for 20 years. It didn't bother them back then but in comes the spouses and that is it, Xmas wonderland. Most everyone that I know does, even my husband used to but now just doesn't care. I feel like I am the bad guy when my 9 year old granddaughter asks me why I don't celebrate it. I can't tell her because my son would flip out. I am close to throwing my hands and saying forget it. But I know God would not be pleased. So if it isn't a salvation issue why should I care either?

I have such peace not celebrating Christmas this year. My husband is so dead set against it. He says no way and loves all of the junk. I hate it. But he also is not a leader in spiritual things or anything. We are seperated so it made it super easy this year (no kids), but he wants to come back to the marriage and i told him last night that after being separate 2 years, i dont celebrate any things like this anymore and he was like what in the world are you talking about? We have gotten the "It's about the memories" but holidays are inanimate. They don't make memories. People make memories. We should focus on making good memories everyday.

Better to do and learn His Feast Days that have meaning instead of pagan holidays
@crystalrose475214 сағат бұрын
Feast days have meaning, but Jesus abolished the religious rituals of the law. Eph. 2:15a “having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances” Christians should not observe Old Testament holidays. If we do, we turn from the fullness of Christ and get mired in empty religious rituals. We miss the point of the Old Testament and end up in bondage.
@ciew61979 сағат бұрын
@@crystalrose4752 That's ok. I disagree. I do not keep Judaism, but as a believer, I believe we are to keep His Feast Days and the Commandments the best we can. The Feasts show a beautiful picture of Him in the past, present and what He will do in the future and we show Him how much we love Him when we keep His Commandments John 14:15. His ways are not bondage. He set us free from sin not the Law. When we don't follow His law (instructions) the best we can and when we fail their is grace, we sin and He says we are lawless and He doesn't know us Matt 21:This is what I have come to believe after I came out of Christianity.I hope this comes across in kindness and humility that is my intention. My son went over to my daughter's house (and they both claim to be Christian) to celebrate this man-made tradition that has nothing to do with our LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ. We celebrate the Lord- his first coming and looking to his second, in His 7 Holy Feasts (which take up a few weeks out of the year vs 1-2 days) with joyful celebration and praise in our gatherings. Of course- these are things we strive to embody and live out to the best of our ability each and every day- but these things aren't exclusive to a Christmas celebration. :) Everyone do as you feel called- our family (including our children) are quite joyful where we are, and I do find it odd to think kids not having Christmas are being damaged in some way- plenty of children all around the world don't partake in the American Christmas and I'm sure they're doing quite alright. :) Our family has simply found purpose and great joy in celebrating the Lord's Holy Days vs man-made holidays. That's all. :) Thanks for sharing!

Learn t be practical and wise with the things you consume on a daily basis. Old fashioned homemade gifts anything of the year are even more appreciated because people don’t EXPECT IT! Give give give not get get get! Amen This time of year is all about materialism and greed! Teach your children the basic principles of when Jesus was ACTUALLY born. Study yourself approved. No man should have to entertain or teach you the Word of God! I personally love battery operated lights. That and solar powered lights! We do drive around and appreciate the lights because God IS LIGHT! Look up other channels and see how traditions became from pagan to Christian paganism. They wanted to make a transition.. Seek & find Truth! Psalm 91 Have a safe holiday season and enjoy your family. Come January with this transition we need to be focused more on our pantry homesteading items. Get your house in order!! Testimony: I was born again in Oct/Nov 20 years ago and I strongly sensed the Holy Spirit telling me not to participate in Christmas. Not b/c of someone else, a book or popular preacher. The Internet was still fairly new and there was no 'You Tube'. But in really thinking deeply about it, for all these years, Christmas had been like fantasy land. It makes a lot of promises and has a very real emotional connection. The "magic" of Christmas etc. The excitement of trees and decorating and presents; holiday craft shows and special activities makes Jesus seem boring by comparison. That's when I realized that I had been kind of under a 'spell'. Christmas is 'fun' but Jesus isn't? WHOA! Why are we doing all this? It has nothing to do with Christ! That was a wake up. Burst the bubble. It certainly helps to make decisions to withdraw from all this when one is single and has no children.

Setting a special time aside to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, spending time together with family and friends, and loving others does not offend God. We are not celebrating an actual date, nor or we worshiping a tree - we are celebrating the fact that Jesus was born and it simply brings joy. God is not looking at His children saying, "Oh no!!!! How disgusting and vile that My children are celebrating My Son, enjoying each other, and sharing with strangers. Even non-Christians are enjoying each other and smiling more. Oh the horror! They are also gathering to eat fun and delicious foods! We must stop them because too much love and joy is just so gross and offensive. We must stop the world with associating the name of Jesus with LOVE and JOY and CELEBRATION! The religious (Pharisee spirit) is a real thing. If it offends you to celebrate Jesus then don't but don't judge those who aren't offended by CHRISTmas.

People who don't have much don't really get to play the game. And I also feel like it's utterly insanity to go into debt all FOR ONE DAY! Add to that the fact that I have researched and discovered the true roots of this day and many other customs. It'll blow your mind, if you dare to look into it. It's not Christian. It's not Christ's birthday. But this year, I have tried to throw off the negativity that I usually feel. I still don't do much because I simply don't have the money or energy. But, like you, I am finding little things about it that I do enjoy. Some colorful lights are nice. I still try to make a nice meal and maybe some desserts. It's totally natural for people to want to bring some cheer and social activities to lift spirits during a dark cold winter month. I also put up lights b/c they are cheerful...w/o Santa or reindeer or elves. I also like to sing carols (the spiritual ones) to help me keep my delight in Christ...and also view "The Star of Bethlehem" or other deeper study revolving around the birth of Christ b/c it begins a new fascination and awe of who He IS and all that He has done! I also do not participate in Halloween, but Fall decor had nothing to do with it. My focus is also on the 2nd coming of Christ which I believe is soon!
