I've always wondered how heavy the darkness was for Will, and how tightly he hangs on to Hannibal is very telling. Poor guy, how painful and lonely.

But why did Will hang on so tightly to Hannibal if their relationship was so destructive...? It's supposed to be because they both shared in that darkness...it bonded them, glued them together...but is there any other reason besides that?

They each other's downfall, and they know it, but they don't care about the personal cost. Its a duet that started, when they first met, and it will end in with one them being dead. Hannibal and Will are facing their personal endgame, who will walk a way, Hannibal or Will is uncertain. This is the end of their journey.
