Outstanding playing and articulation. It doesn't matter whether it's a Model D or some other synth, it's always more about the player.

I need that as well any advice greatly appreciated can you get advice on getting rid of the bedroom furniture and getting more synths in i think once you hear this fantastic video it will be good

I've taken all the furniture out of my bed rooms to get more synths in I have no bed but 17 synths is a Yamaha sy 55 classed as a synth

Damn! Fantastic channel Matt! As someone else said, It's so rare to have legit pro-level keyboard players on YT. I would REALLY like to see a video on the playing techniques/theory you use when using a rhodes alongside a monosynth. Thank you for making these vids, don't get lost in the comments section ;)

Love how you actually make this sound like a real instrument. KZbin is full of people who try to show you how to make the model d and other beautiful synths sound like an electronic fart, but damn can we just have some real music? Appreciate videos like this!

The mini is just such a complete musical instrument. It transcends the term synthesizer. So much character and expressive quality! I love my Sub 37, but.......damn!

If there was a fire in my house... you know which synth I’m grabbing. And that’s my Minimoog. Greatest synth I have ever played. Nothing compares. Covers every genre with ease and every sound is CRISP.

Whenever I think I can't hear any new new sounds from the Moog D, I get surprised how wrong I am, in a positive way. Of course, your playing gets it to another level, wishing of your videos to last much longer. Thanks for another great video and some beautiful music you shared with us.

I saw jamiroquai in Zurich years ago. And I think you played the bassline on the Alesis at deeper underground. I've never heard such a crazy deep synth bass - the whole stadium was shaking

Man this reminds me of my old Model D. It was a later model and it probably needed major servicing, but it just sounded so huge (probably old components drifting out of spec over time). Different from other minis I tried. I really regret selling it. Absolutely lovely sound!

Ethereal, spiritual, groovy, vintage goodness! You're like the best of Stevie Wonder, Teddy Riley, Herbie Hancock and a little bit of Earth, Wind and Fire sprinkled in for good measure! Fantastic playing and musicianship as always - props to the EP's on that Montage as well. Am now officially a fan and can't wait to hear what's next!!!

Matt what can i say once again to leave me and im sure many others utterly bliss filled. The Montage clav and Minimoog at 2.56 just has to be turned into a complete song at some point its utterly sublime. I have come to expect an honest heartfelt analysis of every device you do a video on and this is no different and simply the best available on the web as usual. The mini sound near the end, with the external input overloading, reminds me a lot of the intro to Stevie Wonder’s Too High. Gorgeous!

man idk if its him or this synth, but it really sounds alive and real... my moog little phatty doesn't sound nearly like this. Something about Matt's playing along with circuits that are decades old is what its all about

loving your videos. Glad to see a fellow artist also uses Montage 8. IDK why it gets so much backlash, as far as I can tell I rarely see it in gigs, mostly Nord, Korg... some Roland too. Your equipment collection is second to none... enjoy it mate :)

I have a Behringer Model D, UAD's fantastic Minimoog plugin, I even have the Minimoog app on my iPad and iPhone, you know, just in case I need a Mini on the move!

Great playing as always, I'm also happy that there are great new artists like vulfpeck and cory Henry that are playing disco-funk-soul music, I would like to see and hear a new Jamiroquai album and the growth of many new disco-funk-soul new bands.

Ah yes the good ole Mini! Amazing how after some 40 years it sounds every bit as fresh as it back in the day. Such a simple synth, and such a iconic sound! Sadly I'll have to settle for the Behringer version.. which actually sounds pretty good as well, so in that respect I'm happy to be able to get all of those iconic sounds, minus the big physical presence.. Thanks for this demo, I really enjoyed it! Maybe you should team up with MootBooxle some time ;)

I recently read Gary Numan’s autobiography and he describes the moment back in whenever (70’s can’t remember off the top of my head) that he first came across the mini moog and how it just blew him away. After watching this I can see why now. OMG. Awesome. Awesome.

I can listen to hours of what's between 3:29 and 5:00. So dreamy, I absolutely love it. Oh yeah - oscillator sync is possible with a modification - Rivera Music Services was offering it in the 80s. However, that likely requires some drilling in the front panel.

Thanks Matt, just what I needed. Have always regretted turning down the opportunity to buy a Model D when I had it. A Subsequent 37 doesn't quite cut it, but I love it anyway. Loving the Montage.
