My friend Steve Holland has a HUGE one of these. You could actually put your model into his cockpit and it would look like the pilot's r/c model. Good build, Cliff.

Cliff there is something about these small builds you do. Might be that is what I saw you doing when I started watching you. I love them. Great build so far, and I noticed you had it with you when you flew the Glider...looking forward to the rest of the build and the flight!

Fantastic little model. Can't believe you've never done a twin. You did do a Lank once didn't you? I know there is a DH88 in the "Towner" collection, the challenge is that it is 44 inches, so still veeery far down the road for me. I am sure this one will also look great in the air!
@CliffHarveyRCPlanes Жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew, I know, my first twin, yes I still have the Lanc but it's not a twin 😁🤔👍

@johnmillercrawford6243 Hi John, yes, you're correct, MinimumRC have a nice formula going with their designs 👍🙂

The kit options for this plane implies that there is a version with a receiver/gyro combo. I don't recall you building a model with a gyro, is that the case? I would love to see you scale up the comet like you did with the MinimumRC glider, if you have nothing else to do.🙂
@CliffHarveyRCPlanes Жыл бұрын
Hi Mike, I believe there is a gyro rx but I prefer my own inputs, she would scale up a treat but I do have other ongoing projects, I only did this little kit because it was quick (and did I mention I've never had a twin!), cheers 👍

Ooooohh... a box full of tipstall 🙂 Those tapered eliptical wings are notorious for their "interesting" low-speed handling characteristics but the DH88 is a very pretty aeroplane from a bygone era.

She is a beautiful design Bruce, but a little spoiler for you ... she's showed no sign of tip stalling 🙂👍

@@CliffHarveyRCPlanes You must have built it wrong!! 😀 😛 I guess they've put some washout in those wings then?

@xjet Funny you should say that Bruce but no, no washout at all, just goes to show what an undercambered wing is capable of ... either that or it's just good piloting skills 😁👍

Geoffrey de Havilland knew a thing or two about designing beautiful aeroplanes, his DH2 is a model I built earlier this year, simply stunning. When this model of the 88 has expired I plan to put the electronics into a stick and tissue Mosquito 👍
