Hi, It was a bit hard to understand Alex at times but u made it easier by summarizing. I have been mining for almost 2 weeks now and just found out that using nbminer instead of Phoenix miner gives me better results on the same settings. More on point: Hive OS, 3 GPUs Zotac 3090; Phoenix miner : 120,6+120,6+118,8=360 mh/s (silicon lottery got me a slower third GPU) NBminer : 121,5+121,5+119,5=362,5 mh/s So I was able to decrease power consumption on all 3 and still get better hashrates. Any idea why? Thanks
@MiningChamber4 жыл бұрын
Oh nice very interesting, and glad you got the gest of it! So different miners might be more optimized, Phoenixminer is just the standard, TeamRedMiner for example is more optimized for AMD cards and some cards perform better there due to how the miner program is written
@bogdancaprea37714 жыл бұрын
@@MiningChamber Yup, went with hive because it is stable. Learning stuff every day but in small steps coz i don't wanna burn the cards. What I am missing in hive is the memory temperatures and what would help a lot would be a relationship between the core temps we can see and those of the memory. Like for example...core is 50 celsius, which means mem is between 92 and 98 celsius. I am also trying this week a water-cooled processor cooler on the backplate of 1 of the cards and see if there will be an improvement as I don't wanna lose the warranty by changing the thermal pads. I think that the positioning of my cards also helps with the cooling....would be nice to share with others but I have no way of doing that. core temps never go above 48 celsius with 120 mh/s average. Anyway, would be nice a miner video explaining the differences if u got time. Thanks a lot, your doing great, i directed all my friends to u so they could also learn.

@MiningChamber4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I do have a video on HiveOs. But I feel like your referring to hiveon which is the pool, it's a good choice too. My conclusion remains the same as in the video. If it's PPLNS then it's good choice in my opinion

Hive has some sort of bug with flexpool. It's supposed to charge you if you use more than 1 rig on a pool other than hiveon with Ethereum, but I have 3 rigs going and it still says free. Didn't do this with Ethermine. I guess it's really up to you if you are currently free anyways.

There was something I didn't quite get there. Are you guys saying if you are mining under 500MH/sec that you don't get penalized the transaction fee for taking the lowest payout possible? Right now I tend to take .1MH/sec because of the fee over .05MH. Could I take the .05MH and not be paying the fee anyhow?

This is a timely topic for me. Thanks. Just set up one rig with one card on Hiveon. It has been mining at around 45 mh/s. After a few days, I noticed there is only $0.06 of unpaid balance, even though the claimed Hiveon pool is paying around $14 per day per 100 mh/s. Need help on why my rig is mining but it is not receiving its payout. Could my set up (wallet, flight sheet etc) be wrong somewhere? I have just switched to flexpool with pheonixminer. Thanks.
@karlhungus5454 жыл бұрын
Great video, but I still don't know which pool is best to mine on for only 3 GPUs. Does the hashrate of the pool mean anything to us? Should we just go by the one with the lowest pool fees (i.e. HiveOS) that are on our continent, or what other considerations are there? I'm in Canada. Would it benefit me to be on a Canadian pool such as Ethashpool, or does the much lower hashrate (217 MH/s vs 78TH/s on Ethermine) affect my profits? I've also noticed recently (over several days of 24/7 mining) that my average 'daily' earnings on Ethermine seem to be going down a bit (i.e. from 0.008 to 0.007). Does this have something to do with them changing their minimum payout from 0.5 to 0.1?
@MiningChamber4 жыл бұрын
In the 07:18 I do talk about that part so you should be able to decide based on the info I give there. and for canadian pool, it all comes down to latency. if your good and not getting too much stales then you wont see a difference. Daily earnings change and its normal, I talk about it in the video as well!
@karlhungus5454 жыл бұрын
@@MiningChamber You talk about YOUR hashrate, but not the POOL hashrate. I've read that you should pick the pool with the highest hashrate. But then why do any of the other pools exist? Also, I still don't understand the way fees are paid. When you say you need to 'pay your own' fees, what does that mean? It comes off automatically while you're mining, or when you reach your payment threshold, or when you transfer to exchange? Fees and 'gas rates' are very confusing for new miners like myself. I know daily earnings fluctuate all the time, but overall I've seen a permanent decline in my daily estimate.
@MiningChamber4 жыл бұрын
As a miner you want to look for decentralizing. So you want to select a lower hash pool and mine for it to help decentralize the network. But that doesn't mean you can't just select Ethermine and continue on. Again it won't make any difference in your profits. It's all either PPS or PPLNS. If your using ethermine, mining payouts are included in the block, therefore your losing 3-5% mining profits since the block also includes miners payouts but if your looking for frequent payouts then you will end up losing less than using something like Flexpool which makes you the miner pay the transaction fees. Profitability is declining that is because you probably started mining when it was at an all time high. Just check the factors that play in Profitability and if they align then know that your good
@karlhungus5454 жыл бұрын
@@MiningChamber Thanks for the detailed reply! On profitability, I should clarify that I wasn't talking about the $ amount but the amount of Eth I am mining daily that has dropped (0.008 vs 0.007). That is what has changed even though nothing else has changed on my end (cards, settings, pool, etc). Is this due to pool 'difficulty' increasing or something?

So far I found Flexpool to be by and far the best of them. NiceHash is ez but takes a huge cut, Ethermine is super slow on updates. Im new to mining and i have question. Im mining on rx550 4gb micron memory 1250mhz core,2000mhz memory and bios moded, on hive os, lolminer latest version where you are able to mine eth with this 4gb gpu at amazing hashrate (for this gpu im geting 18-18.5 mh/s), problem is that im mining on ethermine pool and when i go there reported hashrate is way higher than average and the actual current hashrate on the pool, for me reported is 18.3mh/s and actual hashrate is 1-2mh/s. Is this normal and i should watch only reported hashrate, is it bug, or it is bad and im acctualy getting 1mh/s, or something else, pls help :(

You need to give your rig some time to reflect on the pool. Check the last part of this video

So with 500 mh its better to mine on ethermine, then mine on flexpool?
@MiningChamber4 жыл бұрын
It would be more stable yes but you can potentially make more with a pool like Flexpool

I just started mining almost 2 months ago , i managed to get 4x used rx580 8 gb with a good price , now the prices are insane here (ukraine) for 8 gb cards , around 500$ for a used rx580 8 gb , with 500 i can get almost 4 rx580 4gb cards and mine Rivencoin , 4 cards mining Rivencoin are more profitable than 1 card mining ETH with today's prices , do you recommend doing this ? Electricity prices are 0.05$ per kwh Also i keep hearing ETH network difficulty is increasing insanely , maybe after some months mining ETH will not be profitable anymore for small miners and we have to switch to another coin !

Mining RVN is a good choice but I dont know how the future will play out so you can maybe try to look for some NVIDIA gpus!
@afshingorgin33184 жыл бұрын
@@MiningChamber thanks for your comment , of course future is a mystery but here in Ukraine AMD gpus are much better priced and more popular , nvidia prices are crazy now , currently i'm hunting for some rx 580 4 gb !

If I change pool before payout do I lose it?
@MiningChamber4 жыл бұрын
Some pools payout after a week others keep it in there until payment is reached. It will never disappear though
