Thank you both for this conversation. Holy Spirit has used it to bring further healing to me. Basically everything you shared Jenna, is similar to what me and my family have painfully walked through this past year. And our Beautiful Lord Jesus has shepherd-led us through it to know Him more- and He is so precious, beyond measure!

We are on the third podcast (besides the ones with Eric) and it continues with all kinds of examples that don't seem to be "vague". It's like a very clear attempt for the world to figure out "where" you left and what church it is about! I understand that you were hurt and I feel sorry for everyone else who felt that way! I think it is a current topic and again, I return to the one in which your father advised you so well! Maybe it would be good for you to listen to him again and take everything he said one more time, one by one and check yourself. A healed heart knows how to touch exactly the wounded points without examples that "defame"! From what i remember, you said that those leaders just need to realize and ask for forgiveness! If so, you should trust that the One who brings everything to light is above every circumstance and brings out His justice! I don't know, but it doesn't seem very correct to approach only with "exact sayings" instead of giving names, if you are really one hundred percent sure that there is a "hidden sin" and a very dark area! Then, if your goal is not really that, you would focus on what the healing was like for you at least as the predominant thing in the podcasts! You know very well that you can give general examples...instead of personal ones; Let's not forget that those involved have children, many had their lives changed through them and still did not leave with trauma; and to recognize that God impacts a whole world through them. And once again, let's not forget that God is in control and He can bring to light everything that is hidden! I think that the line reached is very fine and even if we are talking about narcissists, it will certainly not change them when we point the finger at them. Only God's Love has ever changed anyone. God has put certain values in you! you can be a Voice! But be the Voice that resounds from His Cross

Hey Lavi, Hearing real stories on the topics of discussion that have been at hand are not harmful to the body. I know you mentioned that you wish there would be no “exact sayings” but the question would be why? Why is it an offense to your conscious to know what things are happening behind the scenes at churches around the world when the topic of discussion is how to know what healthy church that honors God actually looks like. You said something really interesting here. You said “many have had their lives changed through ‘them’,” and “God had impacted a whole world through ‘them’,”. That’s so interesting to me. The perception of impact you have decided is on a location and not on the Lords mercy who meets with people apart from and despite of any one ministry. It is not the place that is responsible for salvations, it’s the Lord. And the Bible has given us standards for ministers, ministries, us as believers and those who teach the scriptures for a reason. They’re not up for discussion based upon our desire to not have to sear our conscious’ once we know the truth of what happens behind closed doors. The truth is, it’s so much worse than you can imagine and it’s not localized to one individual ‘house’. This is a pervasive church culture that has infiltrated the body and is a grievous offense to a Holy God. The question should be “why am I content to sweep the truth under the rug for the sake of maintaining a perception of a ministry that I don’t want to know the truth about”? If God has commanded his Bride to be Holy and if God has set standards for His Church and those who teach the scriptures, why would we ever decide that holding people accountable for hidden/excused sin and explaining the truth about how we are to function in Church in ways that honor the Lord, is offensive to God? Why would that be an offense? It isn’t and there’s no scriptural basis for that belief system. That’s coming from a desire to not know things that will change your perspective and it makes sense because we have all once been there, also pulling the wool over our own eyes in order to not be made to take a stand for truth. But, now… the wool is gone and the truth is visible and God is opening the eyes of all those who don’t want to live intentionally blind. People can choose to gouge their eyes out if they want to, and people can choose to remove the blindfolds if they want to- and before the throne, we’re all going to be held responsible for what we did and didn’t do. And we’re going to also be held accountable for what we told people not to say for the sake of blinding our own conscious to truth.

@@monalisaiancu4186 that’s a narrow view of a very global cultural issue in the Church at large. Not saying “names” isn’t to protect one specific house. It’s because it’s a massive, coast to coast, global issue that’s running rampant in the Church. Everyone is obsessed with who these things are about. It’s simple. It’s about ministries, ministers and leaders who abuse power to manipulate people into serving a very unbiblical pursuit of influence regardless of how many necks are stepped on to climb the towers of importance- never repenting, never open to reconciliation, never apologizing for abuse and expecting to scare people into being silent. It’s not exclusive to one ‘house’. However, if the shoe fits, it might be worth a look at why and whether or not that actually bothers you enough to do something about it. If someone named names, would it make a difference? To some, maybe. To others, probably not.

I did not say that the subject should not be treated! Her father emphasized some important points that represented the position from which we start to do things and the way we do them. I was just saying that I didn't see or feel they were taken into account too much! It was just a piece of advice, given from the heart! Sometimes, out of enthusiasm or more zeal, we can lose sight of aspects; valuable aspects!

All we have is our personal experiences and God's word. I think this podcast is a great summarization of Jenna and her guests experiences through the lens of scripture. The sad reality is there are many churches that this could be applied to. It might be that some of the experiences being shared may not align with your perspective -- maybe instead of being defensive or trying to "figure out where", do some self reflection. Have you been part of a ministry that resembles what is being talked about in this video? If so, are you still there? Why? Or maybe you've perpetuated/allowed a culture of spiritual abuse and manipulation to exist. Yikes. I think if anyone was doing this out of hurt the first thing they'd do is pull out receipts and put the names of these churches and leaders on blast....
