Jenna, I am so thankful to your dad and you for addressing the abuse in the church. I was asking God after leaving that same ministry “Lord, how can such horrible abuse coexist alongside Your Spirit? It all looks so holy but it’s not”! He clearly spoke to me that the reason He pours His Spirit out in these places is because there is always a Samuel in the house of Eli. There are so many Samuels. 😭❤️🙏

What a great episode! Talking about it also allows people to heal. Sounds like their has been alot of hurt their and like your dad said never talk about it with vengeance in mind but with love and love for the victims. Many people will definitely be touched and ministered to. We so need this in the churches today. ♥️

A friend sent me this podcast and I immediately knew why: I too have an inner struggle with this issue. I too dedicated many years of my life to a church that I would now describe as a Charismatic Christian Cult and I have spend an equal amount of time carrying the guilt of knowing I am free, while others are still trapped. What hit me hardest while listening to this podcast, is that as an older woman, as a mother in the faith, don't I have a responsibility to the younger women? How wrong was it for me to disappear from so many lives just because I was told to? Thank you for starting this difficult conversation. In it, I heard a new sound of freedom.

In tears watching this beautiful conversation between father/Pastor and daughter. Thank you for letting us into this intimate space. I think so many people will be blessed by this gentle wisdom and encouraged by the shepherding here I think on all of the pain that’s been divvied among houses, operating out of fear and control, and how many people will be freed from this unbiblical culture. So many have been taught that staying silent on ungodly culture is what God wants but like Pastor Joe said, that is the opposite of all scripture. Jesus wants a purified Bride, so these things cannot mix. I so strongly feel the Lords kindness on this. Thank you for letting so many be counseled by it as well! Love you!

This is a picture of an abusive church I attended for decades. I had to escape in a twisted way but still after many years, spiritual and emotional abuse is found to be difficult to heal. Not to mention being groomed for years thinking I'll become the pastor's wife. It has really messed one's heart.... never I blamed God.

I would constantly stream and watch Jesus image since their beginning….when id be in orlando i always made sure to visit,i remember you and Dominique leading, speaking ect..and always wondered how come ya’ll just seemingly disappeared. Hard for us all to see the things we see and experience. Then we go “That’s God really”? Truth is most of the time it’s not. But I have found a place at Homestead in Mobile where I am aloud to be free in the Father and it has allowed me to get healed from the hurt of church ministry
