It’s because Al always announces the songs and guest appearances before they play. Sucks the energy out of the room. The crowd gets more hype when they realize it themselves if they just start playing.

I saw Ministry at Lollapolooza in 1993. They came on at dusk, Al had real human bones hanging from his mic stand. People made 20 ft. piles of shit and lit em up and made giant bonfires and moshed around the fires. It was and is still one of the most bad-ass, coolest experiences of my life, I'll never forget it. Been a HUGE fan ever since...

Again the signature guitar solo written by Mike Scaccia is removed from their live performance of this classic. WHY? it's such a great solo...so avante garde yet electronic sounding like it was conceived by a DJ scratching the vinyl to the wax or the wax to the vinyl (forget the lingo, lol) ...you gotta put that killer solo back in the song, Uncle AL! I guess the solo was laid to rest out of some profound reverence to the late great Michael Scaccia. Okay then.

I love Ministry and Fear Factory. That said, 2 of the absolute worst live singers in the biz. Burton used to be good live until the early 2000's, and let's face it, Al was never any good live. Paying to see either band live is an absolute waste of money, I know, I saw both at least 4 times and they suck ass live. So I'll buy the albums and listen to them, I'll buy the merchandise, but I wouldn't go to see either if you paid for my ticket. If they're on the bill of a festival, I'll watch a better band, or kill time elsewhere. My opinions, you're welcome to your own. Hakuna Matata and Cheers.
