The old braces bolted in to the back side of the door latch. I believe it was to keep the sides from Collapsing when shutting the doors.

We cut the top off my buddie's square body s10 probably 12 or 13 years ago now. Didnt have a kit, had no intention of ever putting the top back on haha. We had an issue after we cut the roof though, the back wall of the cab leaned in, enough that we couldn't close the doors. We had to ratchet strap the back of the cab into the correct position and gusset the wall. Have you or anyone reading this ever seen this?

Those 80 convertible kits leaked bad and fitment was an issue on the earlier kits. A Lot of sealer used to keep them from leaking but we made them fit and look good and not leak as bad. Love your work and great knowledge thank you.

I have seen it done being cut down that far. I never have done that because I feel there isn’t enough to hold the window securely But you never know.

Hey I had one of the 80's convertibles, my suggestion is to seal the exposed metal otherwise it will rust and it does happen quickly.

..if the truck has side mirrors do they alter any of the cuts for the top? i remember these being everywhere back in my high school days..great that folks are keeping this trend alive..

Yes. It’s the same as the S10. You even need the window regulator kit for your doors. They still sell that. Check my video on that to see what’s involved.

Last I heard was that the company that bought the molds for the plastic parts scrapped the molds. Good luck finding any. I had a 82 S-10 back in the day. I'd love to find another
