Running the little diesel minitug up to the boat launch for hauling near Sechelt. A bit of a chop on the water, but the wee vessel handles a sea better than you'd think she has a right to.

They are such fun little vessels and, women find them irresistible, if that matters. ;-)

@@360Crank 😂 I spoke with someone at Dearden and he was a very nice fellow.I believe it would be a bit expensive to have built and sent to US.Thats unfortunate because these look like the coolest tug in the world but I believe I’m gonna get that little fiberglass one on the internet and although it isn’t one of these gems I think I’ll have a blast.

To bad you didn't show the engine compartment but thanks for the video.

Somewhere I've got video of the fuel shutoff I rigged that shows the engine in its under-seat housing. We modified the keel to make it wider, wide enough to drop the Universal diesel down inside, which flattened the shaft angle, but more importantly, made the helm seat at a logical height.

I love it. would be awsome with a small marine diesel inboard.

This one had a little Universal diesel, but most go for outboards.

I'm sorry, I can't. I no longer work for Dearden Marine, though I'm still in contact. I used to help him haul & launch his own mini tug, which is what I'm doing here: running it over to the launch ramp for a haul. Tug has been sold, now.

How the heck do I get one of these? Do I need to build one? This is awesome

The plans are available for plywood construction at Berkely Engineering. They always run ads in WoodenBoat magazine. If you want one in aluminum, you'll have to come up with the scantlings for metal on your own, or contact Dearden Marine in Gibsons, B.C. to have one built. Thanks for the comment.
