This thing is so beautiful, especially the new bezel insert design without the small rectangles, but the dial looks like the crystal is scratched from certain angles like in the thumbnail.

I bought a Seiko Turtle Great White edition as my first mechanical watch, almost a year ago. That dial really is so, so beautiful. Sometimes though, if I look near the day/date cutout, it looks like there's a scratch/imperfection on the dial, but it's just part of the pattern. Love that watch! 😀

I own one and it's the best watch I've ever had. Made in Japan edition + 6 seconds a Day and the Dial ist just stunning. No scratches on the Hardlex even I wear it everyday. Believe me I'm not tender to my Samurai 😅! Respect for the rewiew I agree it's better then the Blue Lagoon, got the Turtle let's see how long the Samurai will satisfy me😉

I can say that the accuracy of the one I bought in Tokyo yesterday exceeds expectations. I just checked it 24 hours after it was set in the shop and found it had only gained 7 seconds. Not too shabby at all for this price point.

I found them cheaper on Ebay however, I didn't want to do that. The last couple of times I got a watch from an ebay seller, they arrived in boxes that were terribly packed. The watch inside not secured so they were bouncing around inside of the box. I wouldn't mind if it was a seiko 5 or something but not this watch. Seiya Japan (of which I have no affiliation) packs the crap out of their products! I'm sure the price will go down for these in a few months. Or not? We'll see!

What up Kurt!! I was looking at divers yesterday cuz they are just nice summer watches and lo and behold you turn out a diver video today. The face of this watch is what really makes it pop, and the second hand is a nice touch, I wish they did something more streamlined with the hour hand. Wonder how this would look with circular indices instead of the columnar one but by no means do they detract from the looks of the watch. Have fun in Vegas the only time I ever go there is for tech shows and manning booths so all I see is the inside of convention centers and standing on my feet all day which turns into happy hour which turns into having a few more drinks over dinner, into finishing the night off at whatever bar only to get a few hours sleep and repeat 4 days over and over. Enjoy your trip and your weekend bro!

Your videos crack me up man - great reviews & love the boys. We can tell you're having fun, for sure. And you've now made me buy 3 Samurais. Only ones I don't have now (of the modern Samurais) are the SRPD03K1 Dawn Grey (I will own it eventually) and the SRPB51 black with the red second hand (does it even have a nickname?) I love the Samurai watch. Waiting for Seiko to put out a green or jade Samurai; white dial would be pretty awesome, too.

If you look at the watch VERY closely, you can kinda see that the chapter ring on the watch is ever so slightly misaligned to the left at the twelve mark. I have the exact same misalignment on my Great White. Guess we are watch twins now :P!

Great review. I purchased one a few weeks ago and love it. I have had loads of comments off strangers thinking it's a far more expensive watch than it actually is👍. I would suggest a warning at the start of the review..... Beautiful watch! and Great Review!!! Just so you know Great White Shark dorsal fins are isosceles triangle with the back edge coming up straight at 90 degrees. In other words, there is no curve to the back part of the fin - it's a straight line going straight up. You can see these see this in videos, or as I have on a couple of occasions in person while surfing the central coast of California where the sharks were hunting baby sea lions. Yeah, I used to like surfing that much that when the waves were good, it was just part of the game. Now, I don't have that much guts. Anyway, agreed with the other guy about you being the lease losery guy on the web! I know you're not serious, and it's probably an attempt at being humble, but please don't be so harsh over nothing.

I used to see mostly reef sharks, bulls and galapagos...which scare me the most. Interesting tidbit about the fin! I have once ducked a wave and opened my eyes only to see a feeding frenzy. Got one:) sad to say a little less impressive than the 2018 STO that i also have, of course, but oh so nice. The 2018 has that deepsea dark blue vibe, while this one is more of a mediterrenean azure blue. Wear it on a grey Nato for optimal summer breeze cool.
