Damn! I've done a 55,000 point battle before divided between 7 armies. It took 26 hours. You guys have my respect.
@ieyke2 жыл бұрын
We did like a 572,000 point game divided between 44 armies, and I think we did it in about 12 hours. Could have been like up to 16 hours. This was like 20 years ago, so it's hard to remember for sure how long it took. It was the grand finale of the Eye Of Terror campaign. Every Games Workshop was holding a big lock-in event for the weekend, where all the players were supposed to come, and just bring EVERYTHING that we owned. So far as we knew, our store held the biggest event out of all stores anywhere. It was insanity. It was so sweaty and gross. That air conditioner could not handle 44 people crammed in one gaming room. Modern Games Workshop stores aren't even big enough to accommodate that sort of event anymore. I think our store had like 84 ft of main gaming tables? Something like that. That was about the same time that the Firewarrior game came out, and the third edition Cadian Imperial Guard. And I won both. I think we won the Imperial Guard Army Box in a raffle, and I forgot what I did to win the Firewarrior demo disc.🤔 Well, technically my brother won the Imperial Guard Army Box, but he didn't want it and just gave it to me. LOL Crazy ass weekend.

I'm in the middle of a game where there is a total of 2,483,235 points, with 200 army's. Have been at this for just about 2 weeks. It is a fight to the last man.
@jonathanryan99462 жыл бұрын
@@okanakasugimoto8254 damn! That's insane. The most I can tell you about mine was it was a birthday party for a friend of mine, with his friends from his mom's house on one side and friends from his dad's house on the other. However everyone on the side from his Dad's house (except me quit after a few hours). So there I was controlling 3 armies. Two of which I didn't plan, and 1 was orks who I had never fought or used before. Thankfully I was a Tyranid player so it wasn't a big jump. The other was my younger brothers Eldar army which I was very familiar with. Going against the Birthday boy and 3 others, so I felt super obligated to keep fighting. Again, I was facing an army I had never fought before (the Catachan, a brand new army at the time, and Dark Eldar)... as the birthday day really wanted to beat me, I think it was planned everyone else quit. As I was basically his white Whale opponent. I was the kid he introduced to 40k, but after a few games I basically mastered it and I was basically the kid, that would rarely lose but when everyone finally beat me it was like finally beating their dad in chess. They cherished it... and I was super sporting and loved a great challenge. That day I lost, not to the birthday boy but his friend, because my Hive Tyrant and its Guard couldn't get past the Shadow Field endlessly never rolling a 1. No matter how many hits I landed. xD It was a great game. Loved every minute of it and all of it's wackiness. I really hope your battle will be as fun and memorable as mine was.

I'm glad to read this criticism because, as someone only familiar from a distance with 40k and wargaming, I was worried I just wasn't groking the game. A lot of time was spent explaining gameplay basics-as if this was supposed to be approachable for those outside the community-and I was able to follow along just fine with that stuff, yet it was totally impossible to understand what was happening overall with the battle. I don't envy anyone having to play AND record AND edit a 60 hour game with 10s of thousands of minis, but it really felt like they didn't know what they wanted the video to be and as such it ended up being very unsatisfying.

The battle of waterloo was played back in 2019. Now this have been done plenty of time where each historical infantry battalion was represented on the table by a unit. But this time they used a scale of 3x 24 miniature units to represent one battalion. So They had 22,435 28mm miniatures in use. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nX7ShYCoZ7aeb9E But obviously this was limited to infantry, cavalry and artillery models in addition to some supply wagons and similar. No titans or super heavy tanks. Also a huge number of people was involved in painting the miniatures for it and actually playing the game. So what really makes this 40K game impressive is the big models and the fact that it did not involved large number of people painting and playing.

Best bet is find your local game store, there are tons of different games with different styles and local gaming communities are super excited to help newcomers get involved! I would also recommend starting small! For Warhammer 40k, the game being played in this video, local communities often do what's called escalation leagues which allows you to slowly grow your collection and learn the game and the hobbying at your own pace! If nothing like that is happening locally maybe just find a box of miniatures you think are cool and work on building and painting them. Super fun to work on your own army while you watch battle reports like this for inspiration for your army! If you have any specific questions id be happy to answer them, been tabletop gaming since 1999 when I was 7!

i want to see a legit 20k vs 20k battle with people acting as generals sergeants etc. imagine how much faster shit would go if you had like 20 people each micromanaging the battlefield? this shit has some awesome potential.

Imagine a US state senator making a law where you have the option of either one month in prison or two weeks building and painting his warhammer collection 😂
