I like how they design the front clean and moved IO to the side. Nice.

Hey there, Love your videos there. Could you please review GMKTec K7 Plus with 13th Gen Intel Core i7 13620H? Sounds like a super interesting mini pc as it has 2.5 gb intel dual nics, and shows better specs than M7 pro being 50 dollars pricier.

Just a shame it doesn't come with an NVMe port to add an SSD like the BuzzTV P6.

Can you install Minix 3 on it?
@LouisHochmanTheJournoАй бұрын
Can you confirm whether it will output 4K120? A box like this could be great for Sunshine/Moonlight streaming if so.
@RobtechАй бұрын
I asked Minix and 4K120 and 100 is supported.
@LouisHochmanTheJourno28 күн бұрын
@@Robtech Nice to hear. It's a little pricey to talk myself into it, but this seems like it could be a great box for use with Sunshine or cloud streaming apps that support 4K120. I'd love to see a test with it, to see what decoding times/responsiveness/latency are like.

Q1. How about the boot loader? Can I dual boot this into CoreElec? Does this support Q2. Does this support DV FEL 7?
@en6adsАй бұрын
No to Q2. However if you bake the FEL layer into the base layer using tools such as DOVI_Scripts (workflow 8-2-1 to output Profile 8.1 or 8-2-6 to output Profile 5) then FEL playback doesn't matter. It takes many hours to create the FEL baked file, but run it overnight.

A mixed bag. Minix do a good job when it comes to their custom Android builds and the feature sets that are included. But this does come at a very high price. Android 11 on a brand new SOC in 2024 begs questions about what is missing to enable 12,13, 14 or 15 and when something newer could become available. But there is one critical element about pretty much all Android TV boxes, future Android updates. Even the best of boxes will have limited long term support, whereas an X86 Mini PC will be running the latest Windows/Linux for many years to come. History has shown that TV box manufacturers can never be trusted to provide updates beyond the next Android version. Whilst the full function remote is welcome, they are ten a penny and should have been standard years ago. Old traits remain such as the paltry USB ports and lack of expansion for mass storage. The lack of modern elements make these boxes look more stuck in the past from some perspectives. As a switch on and go video playing/streaming device it certainly does the job right now but I feel that the price needs to come down quite a bit to be really appealing.

extremely overpriced....should be on the low $100 bucks....not competitive at all, would rather buy the gmktek nuc g5 with the intel n97 and save 60 bucks
