Over engineering; only a bad thing when you know what your doing, if you're like me and accidentally get into orbit of mün the wrong way you need the extra fuel to make it back. (and still came in so hot my reentry pod was only a hair's breadth from burning up, had less than a second of fuel to brake with just before hitting the atmosphere) Did mean to ask, how do you switch vessels and switch to controlling a Kerbin in EVA? I know it must have been mentioned somewhere in the tutorials but didn't notice it.

Use the bracket keys to switch between controlling nearby Kerbals and ships.

...so that's why my experiment doesn't work. I took only one solar panel module. The whole system isn't very well explained, is it

It depends on the level of your engineer. You can look up on the KSP Wiki what level gives how much power (e.g. level 2 engineer deploying it results in power for 3 devices (from *one* solar panel)).

You could have left the land as a satellite with the solar panels open and then you can gather science continuously......right??????

The modules have its own power and coms They don't need the lander to be there and I doubt our kerbin would enjoy being parked there for awhile :)

@@uthris I’ve had two orbiting the sun for like 20 years in my game. I check in on them from time to time, and they still seem happy.
