This tractor was my dad's dream tractor back in the '70s. He preferred the yellow from the red because it just looked traditional MM.

Never seen one of these before, until today, there’s one for sale at a local auction, but it’s red and white, said white on the front we walked around and saw MM on the back, I thought it was pretty cool. The auction is Saturday the 14th.

One might conclude White Motors was a Jonah as none of the tractor brands/makes they once owned have disappeared . IAC, that's a nice example of one in traditional M-M colors . Interesting to see the lack of sound deadening and ' softening ' of the cab interior surfaces common to all brands offering closed station units in that era . I was at a tractor wreckers today in Saskatchewan, they have an intact Oliver 2655. I'm not positive it's a 2655 but is definitely and articulated Oliver of that era

You can definitely see the evolution between an A4T and a Field Boss. The 4-150 has a lower profile. I got to film a 4-210 this fall. I hope to get to see a 4-150 in action sometime.

Very nice video. While diffidently older tractors, pretty sure there was a ac unit at the top rear of the cab on the yellow one and one of the units had a 3 pt hitch and pto. I think a person could find a use for one off these tractors even today.

I find these videos fascinating being a farm boy of the 1960-70’s. A quick detailing of the implements they are pulling would be interesting to me. The farmer I worked for in the early 1970’s had one of the first 4wd John Deere tractors in Grant County Oklahoma- a big jump from the 4020 I had been operating for him.

That sheet metal is just like my 67 U302 super looking down the hood. Except it's taller off the ground and has 3 times the power haha. The commenters saying the cab is noisy.... I mean tractors came from the factory with mufflers in the 60's. Obviously the owner of this unit doesn't mind the extra noise. I personally think most tractors just sound better with a muffler(except maybe the old gas powered 4 cyl. Waukeshas in the old Olivers), but to each their own. Looking at all these tractors, White wasn't afraid to cross Oliver and MM parts in the later years. There's no mistaking the big old square jugs of the 6 cyl. MM engine under the hood though.

Hi. Nice video of this good looking tractor and info about all his variations. You talk in this video of the Cockshutt and I saw also a drawing of this Cockshutt tractor. There is a discussion going on now about his existence. Some say that the Cockshutt 4WD was never in production and therefore never seen in the field, but others say that for example the green Cockshutt in the green Oliver color was seen in Canada before with the Cockshutt decals on it. Wat is your information about this Cockshutt articulated tractor?

We had 3 MM Tractors. ZB,UB,and aU302. Actually 2 others. A 445 utility and a 5 Star. All of these tractors were used on our Diary Farm.

We have a White Plainsman Diesel engine just like the one shown in this video, 5 stars on the rear fender as well. No cab on it. We also have a Minneapolis Moline G1000 vista which I believe is also rare these days. Great video!

bigtractorpower Unfortunately not anymore. We were a dairy Farm in Connecticut, but as you know with milk prices and changing of generations it’s very hard to keep a dairy operation going. The farm sits idle now but the tractors are all still there. Both the plainsman and the Vista have had their engines turned up and re-built along with stronger clutches. The G-1000 is called a “vista” because it sits higher than the standard G-1000. The seat is level with the top of the fenders giving the operator a better view. Thanks for all your videos there are not many people like you who appreciate those classic tractors. Let me know if you would like some pictures of those tractors I could email them to you!

bigtractorpower what’s not to like about an A4T? All these older 4wd tractors were pioneers in their day. They represented what each of these companies had to offer in advanced horsepower. I prefer them over the modern ones. To me, it’s heavenly to be around these machines in the field.

Nice tractor. We ran Olivers which was also part of white. The disc seems a little small for that big boy. Worked the farm from 12 yr old until I graduated. Then the army and then 42 yrs of driving semis kept me off the farms. Lol.

The yellow A4T is rare. I sure would like to film the Oliver 2655 version. Oliver built great tractors. This disk chisel takes some power to run at 9-12 inches deep. At 169 hp in hill sides like this farm land the tillage team is well matched. This field was harvested a John Deere Hillside combine.

I remember seeing one of these, on propane, working ground, west of Jetmore, Kansas, about ten years ago. Dad and I were astonished that a big four drive tractor was on propane! I imagine that it used quite a few gallons of LP an hour!

Moline was the biggest in LP tractors. They sold a bunch of LP 2wds. I believe there were only 62 LP 4wds built. I have an LP Oliver 2655 featured here on the channel. It is the same as the Moline just painted green.

bigtractorpower, I’ve read about them taking the 585 ci engines out and installed the larger lp industrial engines in them at dealerships and some farmers also did this. Seen one of those examples at Washington, Kansas.

So was this a MM original that White put into their line as they merged Olive ,MM and Cockshutt or was this unit developed by the White motor company and sold as MM and Oliver prior to dropping those brand names . Never drove a MM but I always loved the color and looks of them

White owned Oliver, MM and Cockshuttt in 1969 when the A4T-1400 was introduced. The A4T was designed and built by MM but was sold by all theee divisions through 1972.

Not sure if he said, but the 1600 diesels were naturally aspirated, right? I noticed the yellow one had a turbo decal, the intake moved to the right side of the engine, and it sounded like it had a turbo. I take it the owner must have added one?

That’s a nice looking tractor! I always like seeing the old tractors out in the field. I was just thinking, isn’t that tractor kinda big to only have 143 pto horsepower? It’s only got 123 drawbar horsepower as well. That would mean that a John Deere 4455 has more drawbar horsepower than the MM and an International 1466 has more pto power. It’s a nice old tractor either way, thanks for another great video!

I have not but I do know that some of the major farm tractor makers have been working on electric tractors for over twenty years. We will seem them probably on the market in 10 years.

Most of the farms I film at are people I know well. I just film them as they are working. I do not get in the way. In this video the tractor belongs to a friend of mine so he worked with me to get certain angles.
