Take it for pleasure drives every few weeks. It helps keep your gear shifting right, and reminds you why you're busting your knuckles and your back. (and puts a big smile on your face)

Awesome bus. It looks and sounds so good. Nothing like the sound of a 6-71 Detroit diesel. I always admired the PD 3751, 4101 and 4501. In the late '40s and early '50s, my active-duty Navy dad traveled thousands of miles in PD3751s, from California to the East Coast, and back. In 1961, mom and we kids traveled from San Diego to Norfolk, VA in several PD 4501s. We thought that was the greatest experience, ever, and were glad that we didn't take a train or fly. Nice to know that guys like Jason, Sage, Scott and others are taking a keen interest in resurrecting these old buses; PD3751s, especially. Thanks for sharing your video of your trip through the UP of Michigan, etc. Beautiful scenery.

Congrats, sir. I use to live a few blocks from the Bus Boys shop (Richfield Bus Company) in Bloomington, Minnesota. My grandfather built and owned a commercial building two blocks down that same street (Grand Ave) from the bus garage. In fact I saw that building through the windows of your bus when you were taking those test drives around the block. I know that area very well. I'm in my mid 40's and I remember seeing those old busses parked in the yard of the bus shop since I was a very young kid. I'm happy you were able to rescue one of those busses and put it back on the road. I'm not sure how I stumbled upon your channel but I'm glad I did. I've watched every episode of your Minnesota Bus rescue series. I love old cars and trucks and apparently I now love old busses too. Lol. As you were driving across the Blue Water Bridge I started wondering how many times has that bus been in Canada through its career as a Greyhound? If that bus could talk I'm sure it would have a LOT of great stories to tell. Congrats on your successful journey and enjoy your new bus. 🙂

I think you got the better of the two buses for sure. You worked your rear end off on your bus and on Sages bus. I'll bet you're glad that you can do your own thing on your own boss now. Looked as if you had some stressful times with Sage he seemed to take offense easily. All the best from BC Canada

What a great series with awesome documentation for those of us new to the bus journey of yours. I wish I would have found all of this bus stuff about 3 years ago, because at that time I would have been out there looking too. Too late for me now, so I'll just have to live vicariously through you, Sage and Scott. Looking very forward to see how you transform it!

Jason you are a Cog swapping natural mate, Not one crunch heard, not one utterance of Whoops, We'll pick that up later :-) which is the mantra of the Crunchy Cowboy as Cogs shoot out the side of the box lol First glance cosmetics aside you have a museum piece Silversides there, will fit in well in Canada where things seem a bit neater (Like the sides of the roads all manicured). Well im looking forward to the restoration, your BeerFlu lockdown should be about done by now and like most of us you do the right thing and carry on. Loving the Journey with you and Sage, thanks for having us with you!

It sure does help to understand the mechanics of it first! Prior to this trip I had never driven straight gears on the road. She's not museum quality yet, but hope to get there one day! Thanks for the kind words.

@@BusWithUs. Dead right Jason, the biggest adjustment from Petrol to Diesel is Rev range and thats where most people make the mistake, over rev and rush the box and its crunchier than cornflakes and mechanical sympathy is a massive aid. As for condition? She's a great survivor and relatively unmolested and that, In my book is Museum quality. Something else I noted was the Music and the track when you crossed the bridge into Canada, Sounded similar to the theme to Due South which IMO is one of the greatest TV Theme songs ever which I thought was fitting.
