Thank you for all the ice fishing content, I just was up in Ottertail for two days and was going for pike and panfish with my camera underwater at west lost lake when I saw a 55+ sturgeon on the camera and was very surprised because the DNR says there’s only around 1-2 in the lake. The ice near the entrance to the lake broke open on the right side so we had to leave before the other side broke.

The DNR only knows how many fish they've killed in their nets. They know very little about actual numbers , especially of species they don't care about or anything outside of the TC. Remember kids the DNR is the only entity that can legally( though not constitutionally legally) enter your property, including your house, without a warrant.

Depending on the action of the rod and size of minnow, that could be normal. I've had a nice minnow on one of my rods and the tip was doing that just from it moving around.

I think it's the, Rio Gear-"Capture The Spirit" Blue Camping Cot. I have the same one and it's nicer then the basic cots imo. I think i paid 80 bucks at walmart
