Two 15 inchers would be delicious. Dinner for two, fried in butter and garlic, salt and pepper (no breading). Steamed rice, sliced tomatoes, green onion and cilantro with a splash of apple cider or red wine viniger. Do not forget the avocado and toasted sesame seeds. Then more salt and pepper (fresh ground). Yum.

Lots of lakes/bays like that in Manitoba/Sask/Ontario/etc. Way less fishing pressure is part of the reason fishing is so good up there. Us folks in the states have done it to ourselves. It’s night and day fishing any waterbody in the states vs when I run up to Ontario.

The people showed up :) I don't show the crowds that much, I also stay ahead of the crows and always looking for new areas. This year I have been out over 14 times and have yet to fish the same spot twice :) Merry Christmas!

Serious question; I’ve only ever caught two fish with warts, and both were species that you can’t keep in the lakes in which I caught them, so they were released. But I’ve always wondered… … As the fish remains completely safe to consume, why would you not remove fish with these issues from the fishery? Is it of such little consequence that leaving them doesn’t matter? Honestly wondering.
