I'm curious what Thor thinks of ASU RB Cam Skattebo. He seems like a younger, bigger version of Aaron Jones. Similar speeds and a good receiver with good cutbacks. A tree trunk type build that would maybe be good in the Red Zone. He would have to get rid of being a sometime fumbler. Might be available in the 4th or 5th round.

A few thoughts. I wouldn't be surprised to find there is a smear campaign against Flores. The NFL doesn't accept people who push back against the system. I'll be surprised if he gets a HC job anytime soon. He deserves it, but something smells rotten. Regarding JJM vs. Darnold, it's pretty simple. If you want to build the O-line, you need the cap space. So, the choice is similar to what it was with Kirk: Darnold and a weak line, or JJM and a rebuilt line. After that, draft RB and DL. Maybe I'm scarred from the years of Zimmer, but I don't ever want to see the Vikings use a first round pick on CB ever again.

It's not a choice between Darnold and McCarthy, you can probably keep Daniel Jones, and have him play the same role as Darnold did this season. Maybe Kwesi will have better luck with a 1st round CB.

Beyond all of the misses at CB during the Zimmer/Speilman years, CBs can also take a couple years to develop, it's a position where injuries seem to be more common, and a lot of them lose a step pretty early in their careers--often due to injuries. So, even if you hit on one, maybe you only get a few years of high level play. I'd rather spend 1st round picks on positions where you get immediate high level play (RB) or where a good player has a better chance of sticking around for a decade (QB, DT, OL, WR).

I would let Kwesi walk and hire Lance Newmark he knows how to draft something that Kwesi has been a disaster at. I think you miss the point. They don't hate Darnold. They simply recognize his limitations. The best quarterbacks have something between the ears and KOC can't plug in 100 percent of the time to keep Sam from self-destructing. We are all happy that he's had a very good season, and that our team success will get him some much bigger money elsewhere. He is not, however, the long-term solution for the Vikings.
