It’s fair to criticism him on this game. Those ints were terrible, terrible decisions. He did get hit in the face, but he has to hold onto the ball. This game was a shutout and a blow out if Darnold doesn’t make those crucial mistakes

mahomes have been playing like this the whole year and is in the mvp voting . and in the biggest mahomes fan but he has had some ugly games that he has won darnold had some really big plays and is part of the reasons they won and sadly partly why it wasn’t a blowout

Darnold throws the ball downfield and he is not a dinker and dunker. He will make more mistakes, but he makes big plays too.

When you throw the ball downfield as much as the Vikings do, there is going to be a pick on occasion. Check out the NFL QB stats, almost every QB has a bunch of picks, it happens. Darnold has 7 now, Mahomes has 9, Baker has 10, Love has 12, Stafford has 6, etc, etc.

Sure but many of his int's are completely inexcusable. It's one thing if he's throwing into coverage and a defender makes a play.. something entirely different when he literally throws the ball directly to a player on the opposing team... and he's done that several times in the red zone.

His problem is that he looks to JJ too much and he doesn't take what the defense gives him. He wants to throw the ball 15 plus yards all the time. If JJ is covered he tries to fit it in there or make bone head plays.

As a Vikings fan I am very optimistic after this game. Defense looked great and made play after play keeping the Colts offense at bay. Also, any Vikings fan should be ecstatic that KOC finally had the gall to go for a game winning drive and not settle for a field goal - and they actually executed. Yes Darnold had some rough mistakes but you have to give him credit for remaining confident down the stretch and making the plays that brought us back in to the game and won the game. Winning is never easy in the NFL no matter who you play…have to be excited about a 6-2 first half of the season

I would add that the refs as in nearly every game missed ,(or chose to ignore), several plays where a penalty should have been called but wasn’t, shouldn’t be overlooked by the NFL.
