The game was forgettable (the Vikings lost to the Cowboys by... a lot...), but we still had fun.

I’m a Cowboys fan so this game was great for me 😂 but the drumline sounded great!!!!! I was watching EMCproductions’s newer NFL drumline video and thought I’d check out more videos.

Hey was just wondering how competitive the tryout process is? Like is it all former Corps guys? I played in my college line but curious if this is something I could do, attended a Bluecoats camps back in 2013 and felt like I needed just a bit more time to make it and never ended up pushing to the next level but the NFL lines seem a bit more relaxed and performative from what I can tell. Any thoughts?

Hey Kyle I'm a freshman in college and I plan on auditioning for my university's drumline in the spring. I was in percussion 7th - 12th grade and played snare my junior and senior year but I never put in as much time as I should have to improve. What do you recommend working on every day to get to the right skill level to make a college drumline?

From a drumming standpoint, don’t be afraid to revisit the fundamentals… I had to go back and start from the ground up during my later years of HS because I was relying a lot on my natural ability and developed some bad habits. I’d also do some due diligence and check out as many videos of this college drumline as you can… the culture of college band is very different from competitive marching band/drum corps, so get a sense for what it’s like at your specific school. It tends to be more about having fun and performing well vs. being perfectly clean and regimented, so keep that in mind!

@@KyleTsuchiya I appreciate the reply! I have noticed the difference in atmosphere from an outside perspective. I think with the level I'm at right now, a college line would suit me better, even though the perfectionism and passion of DCI and WGI is incredible and inspiring to me. I've been obsessed with Kinetic Noise recently and the Bluecoats in general. I love your videos and what you do!
