Libraries are precious places, and librarians and library staff are priceless in the assistance they provide the public.❤

Minnie is one of those women that is inherently enchanting and you can't put your finger on why :) Just charisma I suppose.

I was adopted. My biological mother was 15 and the biological father had left town. However, I had wonderful, loving parents. They cared for me, they supported me, they love me.

8-8-24 Victor: Very similar story in Carolina. “Papa was indeed a rolling stone!” Glad he rolled on off somewhere else. The lovely parents I received were heaven-sent! Thanks, Mom and Dad!

I met a couple who were married in a huge church wedding. They didn't find out until 25 years later that the minister never filed the marriage license. On paper it appears they had all their children before getting married and after their first grandchild was born.

Interesting.

I feel really cranky with that minister.

My old home town. Minnies relative reminds me of my Gran, exactly the same accent

On my birth certificate, my Dad is listed as my Father, and my Mom is listed by her maiden name, as it was on their marriage license. So it's possible that Minnie's paternal grandparents were married when her father was born.

They weren’t.

It’s normal for the mother to put her maiden name down on birth certificate.

I can totally relate to how she must feel. Met a cousin a couple of years ago, the only living relative on my fathers side, I had never met my father either and he died 2 years before I found my cousin. He was all booked to come to NZ from the UK to meet, but Covid stopped him and he had terminal bowel cancer. My wife and I flew to the UK to meet him in December 2022, he was very ill and I had to meet my only paternal relative... Unfortunately he refused to have a DNA test before he died last year, not sure why, so I can never actually know for sure I am who I think I am, which was so important for me and for my future family members. But I got a few photos of my father and grand parents and there are incredible likenesses, guess that will have to do.

I have found a few ancestors who married later after having several children. I am not sure of the reason but their marriages lasted till death parted them.

My great grandmother husband deserted the family in 1912 so working people like her could not afford a divorce. She lived with a man and had 2 further children in 1914 & 1917 then married him in 1916.

"I don't think the family liked her". My father's family was like that. A Scottish Presbyterian married an Irish Catholic. You will never find more loving, family oriented, generous, funny and loyal people than those who live in the mess 'the rich and powerful' created, while feeling as though they were outsiders. "If you're born in a stable, it doesn't make you a horse!" "Your name is one of the oldest Scottish clan names..." I'm English.

The Royal Family demands Loyalty buy in the end of Service they became quite a nasty bunch ,eh? No consideration after 50 plus years? Really brings them down a peg in my loyalty to them my entire life.

Anyone watching this would think that Darlington, one of my home towns, is nothing more than a glorified version of the Coronation Street set! 😠

She used to be so pretty. Like Jennifer Connelly they had work done on their face and they’re no longer the same person. Really sad.

There's this thing called aging that creeps up on all of us. Also, Minnie is quite famous for not succumbing to plastic surgery, and definately hadn't had any facial cosmetic plastic surgery when this programme was made, around 12 years or so ago. She was in her 40's when this was filmed, and it's quite normal to not look the same as you did 20 years previous. She still looked gorgeous here, as she does still now in her 50's. I personally would give my one remaining left testicle for a night in her company.
