100% right on the wasting meat and sawing off horns I’m a meat hunter,I can’t eat horns
@nancypierce9814Күн бұрын
Agree with you Justin if you kill it eat it or you give it to someone. That animal gave its life and don't see killing anything unless you need it and eat it. Its a shame its all about the rack and not the need for the meat.

Justin I agree with you 110% if someone harvests anything it means they have to use every ounce of that harvest that the animal provides. It’s good to hear that you are getting close to being caught up with your knife making because that means you are close to being finished with mine 😊. Glad Y’all weathered the storm with no issues. Hey Justin! I am glad to learn that you & yours came through the storm okay! The original tipis regularly withstood high winds and lousy weather out there on the Great Plains with no problems. I'm dealing with about six inches of snow that is planning to hang around for a couple of weeks before melting! Sigh! Alternate putting a ice pack on that knee with heat or hot water, and try to stay off of it as much as possible until it feels better. (I used to think that Dad was gaslighting me when he said, "Getting older is not for wimps!". Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!) The very last thing you need is getting a hitch in your getalong. It is amazing how much you use your knees during the course of a day.

I know I've seen people find a deer run over and cut the horns off.. I live in Alabama and see that a lot.. I also hunt in Indiana and see deer all over the interstate in Kentucky during November where someone has cut the horns off.. hopefully people aren't killing deer and just throwing them out.. but I'm sure there are some that have..

No sense in the wasting of an animals life for bragging rights. Maybe it was hit and left by a non hunter, woman or whatever and somebody happened by with a saw not knowing how long it had been dead. Good thing about winter you can wrap that knee with an ace bandage and it won't get all sweaty. As you get older things are just gonna happen brother if it's not one thing it's something else.

I couldn't agree more about the hunting comment. The only thing that gets me more riled up is how the FWCC allows farmers to shoot deer at night for nuisance control. The farmers are supposed to call the FWCC and drag the animals to the side of the road for the State to pick up and use. Most just gut shoot the animals at night and let them die in agony. I actually quit paying hunting club dues here because I was tired of walking past deer corpses where farmers gut shot animals and they died on our lease. The FWCC wouldn't do anything because "they can't control how bad a shot a farmer is at night." Just for fun, I tried to get the FWCC to stop issuing these permits to farmers and instead do no bag limits on deer for hunters, allow deer hunters to night hunt, etc. Basically, the idea was to put deer control solely in the hands of hunters because we'll honor the deer better. It about short-circuited their brains. They were trying their best, and failung miserably, trying to justify allowing famers to gut shoot thousands of deer a year but regulatung what hunters take because of wildlife management.

@SpiritoftheOutdoors if the sportsmen would wisen up and support the repeal of the Pittman-Robertson Act, we could effectively defund the anti-hunter elements entrenched in our regulatory government agencies at both the federal and state levels.
