Springtime in New England on that bike in '72 was magical. It was the dawn of all the road bikes coming out of Japan. Dependable and built to endure. These Scramblers were about as much fun as you could have, riding out to a beach town for the day with a few buddies. Priceless

Another stunning vintage bike, amazingly well kept and restored. I had no that the Honda CL Lineup made that powerful of bikes.

Just something about those old classic Honda’s exhaust sound cannot be duplicated even with aftermarket exhaust

great engines, looks like an English triumph, but runs smoother and has no oil leaks, looks so cool

I'd hang the exhaust system on the wall in the lounge....it's a work of art.

Such a great looking bike. Those high mount pipes really make the look.

I’d love to have it, take for a ride in Amsterdam. Recognize quite a few parts Honda also used on the later CB 750

I love my CL450. Happy to cruise, squirt on the dirt and with enough power to make you smile. One of the first multi sports

When you look at this it's no wonder the Brits went broke. Only the Trident, Bonnie and Commando survived. Sad story but these bikes are so brilliant. These are the classics to own!

I had same year bike, tho red, when I was 18. Was rough but rode it everywhere and sometimes on the trails in the woods which was sketchy to say the least! I also took the mufflers off and put straight pipes to the rear. Believe it would top out around 90mph.

You left out the most interesting part of the 450 engine , Ken (CL and CB) There are no valve springs...per se.... It uses torsion springs (picture a twisting rod) being still alive after all these decades is a testiment to Honda. perfect and wd bike, Buddy Neal in OKC (back in the day...new CB-100, SL-125, CB-350G, and '79 CBX...and more...haha)

@@johnthonig1692 I was wrong. I had a 1971 CT Trail 70 in 71. I could have sworn I remember seeing ads in magazines for a SL 450. The ad was a guy leaving the highway in the desert and ripping up a sand hill. At 13 I used to drool over those. The bike in the ad then must of been a 350. I googled it and it came up where a guy built a 70 or 71 SL 450 , red tank with white stripe. A bike he thought Honda should have made. I believe he just took an SL 350 and swapped the motor for the 450. Bike looks showroom new. Like it truly existed. Like the exact one I THOUGHT I remembered 😆
@johnthonig1692 Жыл бұрын
@@Bitterstone3849 No problem, sir. I think there was an SL 100, SL 175, and the SL 350. Maybe a 125 as well. I had two different 1971 CL 450s before I bought a 1974 Kawasaki 900Z1, I have owned 15 bikes since 1970, ☮️
