What's nice is it you're really into errors, you can pick these up for not too much. Then you have an actual " error" in your hand to compare to what you think you may or not have.

Coin shows (in addition to your LCSs) can be a good way to find out if you have an error or not and a ballpark range of what it might be worth. The larger shows often have a representative from one of the grading services who you can show your coins to for free to get their opinion about them. There is a representative from ANACS that attends many of the local shows in the DC-Baltimore area. He was at a show this past weekend and I showed him a couple of items I found in circulation. One was a $5 bill that had some sort of printing error where some extra ink got "patterned" over half of one side. I thought that it might be worth $10-$15 or so if it was a real error but he said it was probably worth much more than that, maybe $100 or even more. So go to coin shows!

Good Evening Daniel!!🍷 I realize that mint quality breakdowns are as old as the Mints yhemselves. But there seems to be so much poor quality currently that to me, "mint error" has become a polite name for mint crapola. I realize that demand commands price, but the paying of high prices for such low quality manufacturing seems like a rip off to me!

As an error specialist, I can tell you that the grade will make little to no difference in the value of a common broadstrike, especially if it's in an ANACS holder. I'm buying the error, not the grade. Even a Details grade won't affect the value much if the coin has a desirable error.

Grade does make a difference but I do agree some errors are common in most grades and for certain coins, that it doesn’t do much to value. That goes for varieties too I buy them often but I also watch the market, dealers sell them in the networks all the time. I see what they sell for at shows, auctions, dealer to dealer and dealer to collectors.

Nice that you are taking the time to educate viewers on the real value of coins with minimal flaws. Give me a 55 or 72 double die any day of the week. Those are true mint errors. As far as delaminating is concerned I classify them as damaged coins. It totally ruins the appearance.

All doubled die coins are varieties and clipped planchets,broadstrikes,cuds,etc are actually true mint errors.

I love finding mint errors, in fact I just found 8 Kansas quarter in god we rust from a few mint roll’s someone turned in at the bank. Missing t’s and a few also missing the g’s. Very cool but to me they are for my collection I’m not into making money off my finds I just like the thrill of the hunt.

Next video: What are the vaulable errors? 3 -3 1/2 legged buffalo nickel, `55 ddo 1c, extra leaf wisconsin 25c?, speared `05 buffalo 5c. Those are a few I can rattle off. Lots of others in sets etc.

ANACS for a while now has had a deal where if you send off a quantity of items for grading you get a discounted price. Currently, it $129 for 10 items, so about $13 per item. It is good thru June, I believe, but they seem to have these type of deals all the time so I wouldnt worry too much about trying to beat the deadline. I plan to use this deal once I accumulate enough items I think are worth sending off.

How much does Daniel charge to grade and or assess error and variety coins. Maybe install his personally approved and vouched for coins in a custom, Daniel certified holder or offer to do the work of sending off to an official grading company? Might he be able to get a personal discount or kickback from grading companies for choosing their services to direct the larger amount of business their way, perhaps extend his services all the way to Heritage Auctions for some % of the proceeds or a set price..

@@CoinHELPu Daniel could charge $1 per coin just to look at them, then $3 for a more indepth look at coins deemed potentially worth more than $20. Then another $10 ontop of grading fees to properly package, lable and send in approved coins to select grading companies for official certification or offer a fee to case and seal your coin in his own personalized holder. Maybe offer different designs to highlight whatever is special about the coin or the type of coin, U.S. cent, dime, nickel, exotic, foreign, ancient, etc.. He's probably the only popular coin educational video producer that could garner enough people that value his opinion to make a business model like that work out well. Heck, he's already got half the business model set up for free between coinhelpu and advertisement viewers via his KZbin channel..

May I asked you what would happen if you submitted a coin that turned out to be worth $200,000? You said in the previous video that the grading company charged 1% of the value of the coin you were having graded. How then would they go about billing you for that because that's $2,000. That would be a little difficult for some people to get their coin back. Not to mention the other fees. How would they go about handling that with the customer? I hope to hear from you. Thank you

If you're submitting a coin you think might be worth more than $100k, you should probably call the grading service before sending it off.

It's the insurance to get the product back AFTER the grading company has graded the coin. Watch the video of Daniel and learn how rare to find one worth 200k when thousands of mint errors are not worth that much but pennies compared to that type of coin.

The grading companies are the ones making the money! I really do not understand this at all. As an antique gun collector for the last 40 years we have nothing like this except in the case of a Colt 45 SA Army there is a thing called a Kopec Letter. John Kopec is a recognized expert on this particular revolver, a legendary revolver, that can sell from $2000 to one million or more. If you send your Colt to Kopec and for a fee, let us say $500 to a thousand or 2, he will certify the Colt as original or not and comment on all the plus and negatives on the Colt you have sent him, his findings are recognized by all in that community. So he may verify a Colt you found and paid $5000 for, pay Kopec $500 for the Authentication Document, on a Colt that may be worth tens of $thousands. Not a bad deal IMHO. From what I am gathering from this posting, you may pay $100 to have a coin graded that at tops may be worth $200,,amazing. :)

There's really no reason to even have your coins graded look how much it cost to what the coin is actually worth which is nothing it is can be very disappointing I mean You get in it because it is fun and I do like collecting beautiful coins and like I said I got a lot of beautiful coins but I doubted worse they're weighing silver can't buy gold to dam expensive you can't buy it on installments Tonight's coins two expansive it's just worthless to collect anymore That's my two cents Worth ,,that's what I think and really who really cares what I say or think.

People are making money with graded coins everyday. Coin dealers are not special, anyone can do it. The more you know the more you can make, educate yourself.

Well if you have a mint error the only way anyone will buy it is if it is professionally graded.

I still think that if you can't find the same error or onevin better shape, the value has no limit because you can't just get one somewhere else. So I don't like when people try to downgrade the value and prevent the holder from being able to fetch a greater bounty. One man's trash is another man's treasure.

And this is a good way for someone to get fleeced in this hobby. Ignorance causes more issues than anything else. Ignorance is someone paying whatever someone else is asking without doing their due diligence.
