I hope people don’t take us serious when we talk about other reactors reacting to BabyMetal. It’s really all in jest. In all honesty, we love when other people around the world, from all walks of life, get to react and enjoy their performances as much as we do. Because really, that’s the point of reaction videos, right? One Love! HJB #notacult

After 4 years of soaking up everything I can find about BABYMETAL, the sheer scope of the stage presentation at Tokyo Dome still amazes me.

Good reaction. You're not wrong about the size of the crowd - 55,000 people two nights running. "Awadama Fever" is just great fun. The story behind 'Awadama Fever' ... This has never been said by them at all, but yes some of us interpret how and why this song came about as being because they were criticised early on (possibly after 'Gimme Chocolate' went viral, possibly even before that) for producing "Bubblegum pop-metal with squeaky high voices". Next thing you know, a song about bubblegum - but not just any bubblegum, this bubblegum has special properties. Chew on this and it can take you wherever you dream of going, it's a mint flavoured time machine - step aboard and see how far this dream might go, the only limit is your imagination. They took everything the critics and haters said they didn't like and turned it all up to 11. Quite possibly the most polite middle finger to haters ever given ... or perhaps more likely (as they don't do middle fingers or take offence and every opinion matters to them) it is their "Criticise us and we'll take it - and then we will make something great of it" attitude.

So heavy, so speedy, yet so happy and carefree, really loved it. And the choreo in this is actually quite nice too :)

Haters called them “bubblegum rock” “I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass - and I'm all out of bubblegum.” -BabyMetal-

Fun fact Awadama Fever is the Japanese version of telling critics and haters to f themselves we are BABYMETAL and we are metal as other bands. It is also one of my favorite songs. This performance was at TOKYO DOME and it was the end of their 2016 world tour. The tour began at Wembley Arena in England.

I was able to watch a good reaction video using a good video source before going to work. I love this song because it is very cute song like BABYMETAL. However as you said, It is cute song but break down part is so heavy. I also love the choreography at this part. Thank you from Japan.

Nice & thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。I have to confess one thing. I am a Japanese so I do not have any problem to understand lyrics. I had thought this was a simply happy and cheerful song to make audiences rejoice. Some 10 months ago, I read an interpretation which Grington300 300 commented below, then noticed how shallow I had been. This song was released in 2016 a year after the concert in Saitama where Su-Metal shouted "Bring them on!". Yes they had been confronting malicious critics and haters, and defying them not in an aggressive manner but with smiling faces. Our overseas mates understood BM much better than me. Like they sing in "Megitsune", they were smiling at face but crying at heart. Oh MY!

One of my favorite BabyMetal tracks. But it does seem like they don’t perform this song much anymore. If you guys really want to see how big the crowd was for BabyMetal’s Tokyo Dome performance.... The One video. Shows how big the crowd really was.

GJ. yup when your on top everyone wants to beat you. What they don't realize is Babymetal wanted more folks to listen to metal. especially young girls like themselves when they started. Su really does want to unite the world through music. or take it over

Yes, the Kami Band is the best of the best in Japan, however, they don’t write the music, they don’t record the studio versions, they just do the concerts. The songs aren’t heavy because of the Kami Band, the songs are heavy because that’s how they were written, and then they are played to perfection by the Kami Band. Also, while I enjoy your videos, you mention at the end “all these BABYMETAL reactors popping up out of nowhere now”, like you’re popularizing this or something. There have been hundreds of people reacting to BABYMETAL songs on KZbin for years. There have been a lot who do it once a week on the same day every week like you guys as well. This isn’t something new at all. Idk, maybe in reading into things too much. Regardless, big hype for Blood & Guts tonight, I know you guys will be watch too.

Great job guys This song is so mush fun About your point about the hate I think some of the haters in Japan has to do about they have a specific band they like and every one else is never going to be good So I love ❤️ BABYMETAL and I happen to like any band that plays heavy metal 🤘🏻 But the best is the best and if you had asked me about a year ago Wish band was my favorite I would had answered JUDAS PRIEST or BLACK SABBATH NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS WOULD I HAD COME UP WITH 3 LITTLE GIRLS AND I LOVE ❤️ DANCING 💃🏿 BABYMETAL THE BEST OF THE BEST

The reason why they wrote this song is more interesting :)
They where fans all around the flat part and tiers of fans about 5 rows high going all the way round as well . Sonisphere they where moved at least a month in advance not last minute due to Gimme Chocolate going viral. 🤘🦊🤘

As others have pointed out the lyrics might just be the cutest middle finger ever to the critics who said Babymetal wasn't metal and was just "bubblegum pop". But the ironic quoting and then subverting of pop tropes starts with the first drum beats which are the now almost banal "amen" drum break. It was also used in the opening theme to "The Powerpuff Girls"...who are also three cute girls who are strong and fierce.
