How can you not like Paul Wylie? Here, I think he elevated Kerrigan’s artistry. He has such a big heart.

They're musicality and passion for skating is so evident. The extension on the spiral - amazing. Only one throw and no lift. And it seemed like a great pairs competitive skate. Synchronised jumps & flow - what a great moment in skating.

I loved this, & remember watching this when I was 10. I thought it was such a sweet performance, & impressed considering they're not pairs skaters. And, since I was 10, of course I wanted to believe that they secretly liked each other lol

Thanks Paul. Hey first off, I tried connecting with you on linked in, I would be more than honored if you accepted, so we can keep in touch. Good news. I'm going to my very first prom. Its a red carpet deal. Its for people with disabilities. My good friend Tim tebow puts it on. I feel excited, nervous, Its in December. I have to buy a gown, I have to buy accessories and gloves. Good thing I've got escorts already. Paul I'm so grateful thankful and just blown away at how god used and worked through you, to help set me free, iam just so privileged and honored that I can call you my brother in Christ I know its not a right, or entitlement, its a privilege and a tremendous gift from our heavenly father. Please know this iam so proud of the man you are and the athlete you are. I hope one day to be given the opportunity to meet you and to give you a hug. Secondly I'm so grateful that god spared your life after your heart attack, that was no mistake. I love you paul. Keep being a light in the darkness, stay in the fight. 2 Corinthians 10:3.love you Paul.

I was so shocked that they would do a pairs performance in the Olympics...neither was trained for pairs...the sure learned quickly. Beautiful performance...Paul lights up a room...Nancy so elegant.

Paul actually competed in pairs and I remember seeing him compete at the US Nationals in San Diego back in 1981 (I was there in the audience). Here's more info: At the same time competing in men's singles, Wylie was competing in pair skating with partner Dana Graham. They won the junior pairs title at the 1980 U.S. nationals. They were coached by John Nicks, commuting to work with him in California.

What a fine and inspiring performance, full of great positive energy. And for those who complain about the lack of lifts and whatever else complainers want to complain about, it happens that addition to not being well matched physically for pair skating, both of them were in the singles competition. Doing lifts would of course have meant practicing them regularly while at the same time training intensely for singles. That was not going to happen, before even thinking about the risk of injury. So why not just enjoy this because it's so good, with its imaginative choreography done so well?
@melissakerber8287
@melissakerber8287 2 жыл бұрын
She probably would have had to lift him as she appears to be bigger than he is. You can tell by the quality of the spirals that they spent countless hours practicing school figures even though they weren't contested here.

Actually, it was the designer, Vera Wang, who is famous for making celebrity wedding dresses. The truth is, Nancy dislikes the white dresses because her mother is legally blind and has a hard time seeing her daughter in the white dresses as opposed to blacks and dark blues.

You do know that it takes a lot of time and practice to skate with a partner? Tonya and Chris would not have been able to put something together in that short period of time and would he have wanted to skate with her anyways. Nancy and Paul have been friends for years and practiced together.

I do agree that something like that wouldhave been fun to see, but I also think this was a beautiful performance. Paul and Nancy had been good friends for many years and lived and trained in the same area. This was something they were able to put together for a nice little exhibition performance. It’s doubtful that Chris and Tonya knew each other well enough or would have been able to spend the time and energy to put any sort of performance together on short notice.
