Hooray for The Warlord! The first 30-odd issues of that title were great fun SF/Sword And Sorcery books. And speaking of Mike Grell, those Green Lantern issues around 90-105 are very nice too. Co-incidentally I bought most issues of Claw The Unconquered just last week in a bundle. Thanks to David Michelinie's writing, what could have been a poor man's Conan is in fact a solid Sword And Sorcery tale with some great early Keith Giffen art in the later issues. Manhunter: Paul Kirk. Detective Comics 425's cover: that's why Bernie Wrightson was a master of horror illustration.

The ASM #529 is most definitely a newsstand edition. You can tell the difference by the size of the smaller barcode that is to the right of larger bar code. This smaller barcode on newsstand editions is far less wide than direct editions and only has two numbers above it. Those two numbers represent the month in which it was dated. (04 = April) On direct editions the barcode is much wider and always has five numbers above it. Those numbers represent the issue number with the first three digits, the cover/variant number with the fourth digit (1 = cover A, 2 = cover B, etc…) and the printing number with the fifth (1 = 1st print, 2 = 2nd print, etc…) So, I can tell you in good faith that ASM #529 has an April cover/indicia date of April; and that the last five digits on the barcode on this issue’s direct edition counterpart are 52911 (issue 529, cover A, 1st print). “The More You Know” 🌈⭐️
