Don’t forget spruce os. It’s amazing as well. More features, like favorites. Also plays n64 and Dreamcast.

I buy a ton of different handhelds to resell direct from China including the A30, infact I have 10 in stock right now. From what I can tell you always get the case no matter what. That's how they ship it. There is no A30 box in existence. Also for anyone who reads this, give Pine OS a shot. It's a tweaked version of the stock OS but it's actually pretty nice. For what the A30 is I actually think it's pretty good, the only downside being the battery life. Otherwise build quality is really good, custom OS options are pretty good and the power is decent enough for anything you would want to play on something this small. It's not as powerfull as like the RG28XX but at the same time all of the XX series doesn't really play all of the included systems either, it will let you play some games on those systems. Let's be realistic though most of these cheaper systems still basically only play up to the PSX flawlessly. As someone who has held basically every single one of these systems that are currently available in my hands I think the A30 is a great budget option, especially if you just have an hour or so to kill here and there, give it a go. I would say buy it now, because I personally believe that as soon as a good custom OS comes out these will go up in price. (Probably).

MinUI is good. Everyone knows it’s good. Everyone uses it where they can. It’s not underrated.

@@MrBrandonbarlow the “collections” feature is pretty easy but if you don’t wanna do that, just make a “favorites” folder and a “library” folder inside each system folder. Accomplishes the same thing

Went to this from Spruce 2.1, was lucky to get 15fps on even Game Gear with it. MinUI works fantastically so far & runs full speed

This video is awesome! Funny story- I was messing w/ the SD card and deleted important files that cause the system to be stuck on "Loading Screen"- anyway somehow, I recovered the important file then used this video to download the GBA Pokémon games I wanted!

Love Minui on my Miyoo mini and miyoo mini plus. I haven't tried it on the A30 yet though. If you haven't tried it yet I recommend Spruce for the A30. Huge improvement over stock in my opinion.

Such a step down from the Mini+ in terms of build quality and care of design. Wish I had known about the broken WiFi before buying, since I only get these handhelds for a convenient way to play for retroachievements. Wasn’t expecting much from it given the reviews , but it still managed to disappoint. Might try MinUI just to see if I can find a use case for it before it’s permanently thrown in a bottom drawer somewhere.

I bought one recently, went into it with eyes open to some of the criticism the A30 had received. I think it’s a great handheld for what it is, using Spruce, and it plays pretty much anything 8 and 16-Bit perfectly, and PSone no issues either. Not really tried N64 or Dreamcast, but that’s probably pushing it too far.

I have SpruceOS on my A30 and I love it. In regards to the wifi (9:22)...yeah SpruceOS has wifi but the device is just too underpowered to perform while it's running. You're right in saying it isn't great anyway so you aren't losing much. I honestly just forget it has wifi and consider it a mini RG35XX 2024 just a potato version. One surprising way the A30 really shines is select MSU1 games. None of the SGB ones work, and some don't run full speed, but a few of them run really well and sound great. Just play the Gundam Endless Waltz MSU1 conversion by Kurrono & PepilloPev and you'll see what I mean.

Just checked the GitHub and wifi is fixed and they instruct: "PLEASE UPDATE YOUR FIRMWARE IF YOU HAVE NOT YET!! IT FIXES WIFI!!"

The original "Star Trek" only made it to 79 episodes by comparison, and by Season 3 they probably had a lower budget than Zu Reviews. Screen was fixed with an official update, but you'll probably want to run a custom firmware anyway. I'd say it's on par with similar devices.
