@@xcaptainspookyx6115 Woah! Totally missed this! Sorry for being 8 months late in replying, I suppose. To try and answer your question, Darkwave is the overarching subgenre of synthwave that is, as the name implies, tonally and/or thematically "dark" or "gothic". Coldwave seems to be a term used synonymously with Darkwave, though I could be wrong. Minimal wave is typically defined by its use of analog synth that doesn't always necessarily fall under darkwave, though there are minimal wave songs/bands that could be described as such.

@@thekronossentinel7582 Coldwave has had two incarnations with totally different sounds. Who knows why this happens. Coldwave began as a metal, or organic instrument (guitars) crossover element with industrial dance. Sometime in the 2010's it became synonymous with minimal wave or synthwave. I dunno how or why. I've seen the genre Coldwave used in so many different ways its become as useless a label as goth, lol
