The quality of this is really good. Heartbreaking to watch and now know what was coming for D. Boon. 🙁 I took flowers to his grave on April 1st for his 66th bday (some to his mom as well). Rest well in Peace 🙏

Bless you brother for sharing this unbelievable footage of a band who should've been appreciated and documented more than they were. If not for them and all the other van traveling , tape swapping , work a shit job to keep gigging, DIY champions and their fans, that means you, a lot of their "children" never would've been born. A million Coronas to you sir and thank you from a Punk drummer from back in those days.

Never saw this before. RIP D. BOON. I learned a lot of Chord styles from this Man.

Wow, thanks for posting this! I was at this show and appear in the frame when the camera pans to the audience after they finish Corona. More importantly, I greatly appreciate this live footage. I loved the Minutemen then (at 18 years old) and now. I was also at some of the very first Firehose gigs in 1986. Boon, Watt and Hurley...you guys broke the mold and changed so many lives. RIP D. Boon.

Excellent. Perfect balance. The guitar of D Boon. Athletic drummer. And the audible and prominent role and sound the bass of Mike Watt. Great Post!

@16:40 Crazy to think that the band I listened to in high school, that I probably walked a thousand times through where they played that Halloween gig years later when I'd go off to college. And I'm randomly finding this out just now. You never know what small pieces of history you're passing by.

Such great footage thanks! also, I'm such a sucker for the more "incidental" stuff of the wider shots, pans around the audience, the details of the staging, the island across the bay, the clouds at that time, the woman talking about seeing them at Cal Arts on halloween, etc etc - the performance is fantastic too, killer band in top form!

This is first time I've seen video of material from 3 Way Tie being performed live. Surprised their isn't more of those songs in the available footage. The rest of the songs are classics but they're staples of their live shows. Then again the author likely wasn't aware of the other bootlegs and their contents. It's easy to say now with all the shows that have since been uploaded here on KZbin as well as Live Music Archive.

The date at the beginning says "1987," which must be a typo - D. Boon died in December 1985. This show, though, I recognize it - the Corona footage has been on KZbin before, and as best as I know, this was shot in Mid-November 1985.
@danielstoddart Жыл бұрын
That is correct...amazingly, this is only a little over a month before D. Boon died. So this show is about the most mature Minutemen performance you're ever gonna hear.

@@danielstoddart Their last show did surface. I wish I could say *where,* and I tried to, but that was the 4th time in a month that I was forced to not comment for reasons that were not malicious.
