Years after I'd seen this film twice in the local cinema, I watched it again and recognized Christian Bale. There is such a multinational team behind this film! It's sad to watch all these international names now, in times of hatred and separation.

@@gionnijohnson408 I don’t know why she rejected the idea. I know he wanted to do Pippi Longstocking, and there are lots of concept art made by studio Ghibli online. From what I have been able to find Astrid thought the concept was to different from the source material which she was very protective of, but idk. The city in Kiki’s delivery service is very inspired by Visby in Sweden where the live action tv-series Pippi took place and the capitol Stockholm.
