I mean, it truly is insane. DC was the older guy (39 is Randy Couture territory), the far shorter guy, the guy with much less reach, the wrestler and yet he knocked Stipe out just 7 months after he'd made Ngannou look like a child playfighting with his Dad. Stipe certainly won the war and is easily the GOAT heavyweight but it's a hell of a statement for DC to KO Stipe stiff in just 1 round and become a 2 division champion. Craziness.

21:17 I've never seen someone aim straight for an eye poke like that. That was a deliberate and perfectly executed move from DC. He poked Stipe's eyes in all three of their fights. The fact that he got his eye poked so brutally in their last fight is the most poetic moment of karma in UFC history.

The second fight was the best one. DC was winning the fight up until Stipe adjusted and went to the body and finished him. Best comeback in a title fight ever, imo. 3rd fight only happened because of that, but for Cormier to make it his last and go out on his shield was awesome. The series of eye pokes were probably my least favorite part of the rivalry.
