Is it possible to use the Miops Smart+ for automatic continuous high speed shooting? = setting a delay, hitting the button in the app and the camera will shoot 20 images in high speed mode? Maybe also with a 10 seconds pause afterwards and that it will start again? So without holding my finger on the button (only once, to start the session)? Thanks for your help!

Hi, it is certainly possible to do something like this as it is basically like a time lapse. However, it really depends on the frequency of the shots, the speed of your storage and the ‘buffer’ of the camera. The only thing I can’t confirm from memory is the shortest interval that can be set on the Miops and I don’t have it with me (at a friends house and we’re social distancing) so I’m afraid the best thing to do would be email their support, they’re good guys though so I’m sure they’ll come back to you quickly 👍
Can the unit be set up to open the camera lens after a trigger and after a delay set off the flash and then close the camera lens? Is this the kind of thing the DIY mode would do? Thank you.

How's your current opinion on the MIOPS Smart Trigger, after using it from January to November Ross? Thank you!

MNMohamed thanks for the comment. It’s still very good! I don’t use it as much as I’d hoped and there are certainly features that I would like to take more advantage of in the future (the ‘lightning’ trigger in particular, but we don’t get much where I live) but knowing that you’ve got all of those features is a real bonus. The unit itself & software have stood the test of time as well and are all working fine

bill glover hi, I’m afraid I haven’t, we don’t get much lightning where I live so it’s pretty difficult to test. However, all of the other reviews I’ve watched seem to suggest it does a good job

Great video. Do you think this could be used for focus stack? Did you buy one?
@amcontent71376 жыл бұрын
so what is the proper settings on the camera to make the basic time lapse work? I bought one but until now I couldn't make it work properly. Currently using Sony a7iii & everytime I use the basic tl mode, it's skipping shutter. I think my camera settings are incorrect. The problem is when doing long exposures, I'm using aperture mode on the camera during sunset as you know in aperture mode the shutter speed gradually go slower as and when the sun goes down & that's when the shutter starts skipping. I'm just lost ,don't understand at all how to properly set the camera to work with this device. pls help

Sorry for the VERY late reply! My current camera has built in time lapse, but the 7D I had before didn’t. For time lapses I used canons tc-80n3. Set up my tripod looped the timer’s cable around a leg one or two times to prevent movement. Then I focused manually and deactivated the stabilizer. Once you get the scene you want check your exposure. Most of the time aperture priority combined with auto iso is the way to go If you get a rather long exposure at the beginning then there’s lots of room for iso and longer exposures, if you decide how fast the final clip should be (like 2x 10x 50x anything really) or how much time you want to cover (for example dusk til dawn 6ish hours 3600min. If you choose to take a photo every minute you’ll end up with 3600 frames at 30 fps that’s two minutes)

Re read your comment skipping happens when the interval and exposure time overlap, including in camera high iso reduction which usually doubles the time it takes for every photo. Also a single shot shouldn’t take as long as the interval you choose 5s every 5s will overlap or not trigger at all 5s every 7-8 gives the camera plenty of time to process

Just got it and it is not what I expected. When using the device itself or the app to trigger my Nikon, there is too much of a delay no matter what mode. For example, with the app, you can do vibration mode. When your phone is moved, it will trigger the cam....Even with sensitivity all the way up, if I drop a ball onto my phone it has about 1/2 sec delay before the cam fires. It is the same with the laser and sound. I'd bet my house that it will be the same for lightning. NO WAY this will catch a bolt without it being DARK and my shutter open for a few seconds.....and that's the OLD WAY.
