Interesting information Terrance. Thank you. Any news on either of these being fixed since you made this video?

It's been almost two years since you posted this... have they fixed any of these things? I'm still going to get it but would be nice to know. Thanks!

I am looking to have my Canon camera to Trigger with a atomic gps timer for imaging ISS to transit the Sun or Moon. Do you know of any atomic gps timer trigger to use with Canon DSLR?

I used a flash slave on my camera (Canon6D) and allowed the MIPOS to trigger the camera and Neewer Flash(worked with shutter, release and sound)
@johnrobert61276 жыл бұрын
Could you not use a pocket wizard for the flash? The flash would then be triggered as the camera shoots as normal. You could mount the miops trigger on a bracket.

Hi John Good idea, I was actually thinking the same. I've got a flash trigger so I may give this a go. I had just hopped the MIOPS could do it all, but frankly it does a lot so I don't mind trying this. I will test it and let you know. Terrance

Since having the Miops in the hotshue is not necessary for functionality, why not just use a flash trigger like the Godox Xpro in the hotshoe and have the Miops mounted on a tripod ?
@GregShaw2 жыл бұрын
This is exactly how to get the flash to trigger at the same time. Miops connected to the camera - transmitter on the camera hot shoe - receiver connected to the flash

Hoping you can help me, does my camera need to be on a certain setting for the MIOPS Smart trigger to work. Did all firmware updates and bluetooth on phone sees device but nothing works or triggers. Thanks

Was your shutter speed set too high? If I remember flash shutter sync is 125th or below??

I have also been requesting for a solution - I see that Pluto in order to overcome partially this issue have in their firmware incorporated for the sound trigger - double clap - the first would trigger the camera and the second the flash. However Pluto apparently works fine with both flash and camera connected. the single clap triggering flash and camera and not getting the pic as you said is due to the lag factor of the camera which can be upto 250+ms (depending upon the camera). Hope MIOPS does upgrade their framework to resolve this issue.

Or you could get a flash bracket with two hot shoes. One for flash and one for the miops

Has anyone seen a Miops vs Pluto vs other triggers review? Be fun to pull in Arsenal and similar emerging camera control tools in a side by side of what they actually do and do not do.

On DPreview forum I red opinions MIOPS is better than Pluto. On JuzaPhoto I was suggested to buy Pluto. Who knows?

Um just get a cage or L bracket for your camera that has the COLD SHOE mount and put the trigger on there! Flash or flash trigger can then go on the HOT SHOE of the camera. Problem solved!

trigger miops on camera (camera flash) and flash in slave mode (strobe)

Thanks for the comment. I have let the MIOPS team know. Whether the address it is another question. I made a few videos that show you the work around to use for this case. kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4SWp6qGl7aHr9k kzbin.info/www/bejne/qmbFgnWDaMqMqpY Hope these help if you are using a MIOPS. Terrance

@@PhotographyIn123The first issue you describe is due to the latency of the camera shutter. Some cameras can take up to a couple hundred milliseconds for the shutter to open. For your camera, I believe it is still about 85 milliseconds. If the camera and flash are precisely synchronised, by the time the shutter is open the flash has already been off for a few tens of milliseconds. Hope this helps.
