மிரள வைக்கும் நீர்வீழ்ச்சி| Trek to Anju Veedu Waterfalls | Kodaikanal EP - 4 | Tamil Nadu Tourism

We are excited to bring to you the fourth out of many videos as part of Heaven Explorer & Tamil Nadu Tourism Department's collaboration. A week's stay in Hotel Tamil Nadu at Kodaikanal gave us the opportunity to explore the nook and corner of this gifted hill station.
Anju Veedu waterfalls are located in the Dindigul district of the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu. They have been given many names by the onlookers; some call them '5V', 'Palar Upper Falls'. 'Elephant Valley falls' or even '5 House falls. Anju Veedu falls can be found in the Vilpatti range of mountains nestled in the Palar Valley. Amidst the Palani Hills, the Anju Veedu cascade drops down from the Elephant Corridor, hence, named the Elephant Valley falls
The Palar stream originating at the Kodaikanal Lake is the source of the Anju Veedu Falls. Anju Veedu waterfalls lie at a distance of 6.5 kilometers from the Palar Reservoir.
Palar Upper Falls also called Anju Veedu Falls (Five House Falls), 85 meters (279 ft), on Palar stream 5.5 km southeast of Palar Reservoir and 1.7 km downstream north from Ganesha Puram village, per 1974 survey map. It is located at a distance of 27 kilometers (17 mi) from Kodaikanal), in the Vilpatti Range. It is a spectacular waterfall with dangerous currents. This stream originates in Kodaikanal Lake.
How to reach Kodaikanal:
By Air -
Madurai International Airport is the nearest to Kodaikanal, approximately 120 km away. Regular flights of Air India, SpiceJet and Jet Airways are available from here for cities like Chennai, Mumbai and Bangalore. From outside the airport, travelers can easily avail of bus or taxi services to reach Kodaikanal.
By Road -
Kodaikanal is linked by road with several prominent cities, including Bangalore (460 km), Trichy (198 km) Chennai (530 km), Ooty (255 km), Coimbatore (175 km) and Kumili (160 km). From Madurai (120 km), it takes less than four hours to reach Kodaikanal via NH 49. Depending upon their budget and requirement, travelers can choose from pocket-friendly state government buses or private luxury buses available from these cities.
By Train -
Kodai Road (approximately 95 km away) is the nearest railhead that links Kodaikanal with cities like Madurai and Trichy. This railway station mostly serves as the rail-to-bus transfer point for those visiting Kodaikanal, about two to three hours journey. Taxis are easily available from the railway station.
